ayetteville City Councdtl met in regular session, Monday, October 31, 1949. resent: Mayor Powell M.Rhea, City Clerk J.W.McGehee, City Atty Price D.ckson, City ngineer'W.C.Smith, Aldermen ; Richardson, Feathers, McGoodwin, Bohe, Williams, Kincaid nd. Kent. Absent : Alderman White. Protest I Quite a number of citizens appeared before the Council to protest the issuance of oldg permt P, pu.1:1ding permit to Housing, Inc.,for the erection of two apartment buildings on Lot two of Inc Williams,_ as there w 11 1 (2), Block Four (4), County Court Minutes of the regular meeting of October 10th. 1949, were read and approved . after rotest A.G.Harlan,Eta1, appeared before the C8uncil to protest paying Curb Pump license, of City Attorney after discussion, Alderman Williams made a motion that the,matter be referred to the Curb Atreet Committee for Recommendation, this motion was seconded by Alderman Kent, and was pump lie gassed unanimously by he Council. The Mayor reported that the City Shop Building and equipment had all been T.1 ter raid for by -the Street Department, and that it had been the intention of the Council for Dept to the Water Dgpartment to pay one-half the cost of the Building and equipment, but that no assume, official action had been taken, Alderman White made a motion that the Water Department 2 cost of assume one-half the cost, which total cost -was -as follows: Shop Building Jp12,203.88 and Bl g & the equipment 412,831.83, or a total of $152035.71, making the amount to be assumed by the Equp�}mt 11gter Department $7,517.85; this motion was seconded by Alderman Kincaid, and was passed nanimo�asly by the C8uncil.
