Present: Mayor Powell M:Rhea, City Clerk J.W.McGeheesi City Attorney Price Dickson, City Engineer Carl Smith,,Building Inspector D:W:Read,_and Aldermen ; Feathers, McGoodwin, Bo] Kiftbaids White and Kent..Absent: Aldermen Richardson and Williams• Bids for Boiler at T;}e bids for work at the City Hospital were opened at this time, showing the fol: Hospital bids submitted: Shirley & Son $2,077.00, Johnson Plumbing Co. $2,250.00 and Fayetteville ;Plumbing & Heating Co. $12230.00, Alderman Feathers made a motion that the bids be refer: Ito the Hospital Committee and City Engineer to study and make recommendations •at the ad- journed meeting of August 4th, this motion was seconded by Alderman McGoodwin, and was passed unanimously.by the Council. The question of the Civil Service Commission being changed from 3 to 5 membersv ar after discussion it was decided to postpone action till the Mayor could have time to subr a list for appointment.
