Fayettemille City Council met in regular session, Monday, July 18, 1949.
Present: Mayor Powell M.Rhea, City Clerk J.W.McGehee, City Attorney Price Dickson and Al
Richardson, Feathers, McGoodwin, Bohe, Williams, TSincaid, White and Kent.
Minutes of the regular meeting of July 11th, were read and.approved.
Skating Mr.Glenn Swihart, manager of the Skating rink on South 71, appeared before the Council
rink protest the paying of a .x$50.00 license, after discussions, Alderman Kent, chairman of the
license finance committee reported that the Finance committee had investigated the request* and
that Ordinance No 755 provided that a Iicense.fegCof $50.00 was required for the operati

a Skating rink, and it was the recommendation of the committee tliathange be made in
provision, Alderman Williams made a motion that the recommendation of the committee be a;
this motion was seconded by Alderman McGoodwin, which was,passed unanimously by the Coun

Geri.Fund tjhe amount of $29500.00 for a loan that was made to the City Park Fund on August 19, 1946

lams for Committee, and representatives from all the Civic Clubs and from the Chamber of Commerce 1

WHEREAS, plans and specifications for the construction of Clear Creek Dam and
Spillway havebeen completed and have been submitted to -the City Council of the City of
Fayetteville,Arkansas for its approval,and

Whereas, in the event of approval•of said plans and specifications the City of
Fayetteville, Arkansas is prepared to advertise for bids for the work and material set
forth in said plans and specifications,the contract to be known as " Contract Number 0
Clear Creek Dam, Clear Creek Water Supply of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas".
NOW, THEREFORE, Be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Fayetteville,
Arkansas that the plans and specifications for the Clear Creek Dam prepared by Max A.
Mehlburger,dated the 15th day of July, 1949 covering the Clear Creek Dam, are hereby
accepted and approved.
Be it further resolved that the Mayor of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas
cause to be published once a week for two weeks in the Northwest Arkahsas Times a
"NOTICE TO BIDDERS",form of which is set forth in the specifications and that said bids
received by the Mayor at his office in the City Administration Building, Fayetteville,
Arkansas, up to Two o'clock P.M.on the 4th day of Augustly 1949
Be it further resolved that Max A.Mehlburger, Special Engineer for the City of
ayetteville, Arkansas cause said " Notice to Bidders" to be published in such trade per
cal or periodicals as he shall deem to the best interest of the City of Fayetteville,
