Plat A Plat of Kirk Addition to the City of Fayetteville was presented, said Plat showing an extension of )Dec. 9yNorth Street, Forty Feet Wide, running East and West through the Addition, after discussion,Alderman nthese Feathers made a motion that the Plat be approved, slbject to proper deeds of dedication for the street s have being filed, and a Ten Foot Easement across the back of the property for utilities being granted, this plied motion a sec,PdePv Aldebrma aao win, which was passed unanimously by the Counc plat showing foo a y su mi .°� _ g e_gity C: With reference to the letter o3 A.T.Sigmon reqs tkt � tha�me/thIng a ou a narrow culvert on South university Street, the City Engines ,,t a the culvert needed to be extended, or at least have guard rails placed at each end, -and itewasydecided to place guard rails at the present time* Requestto A request, signed by a number of property owners was presented, asking that the name of Scott change name Street be changed to WATSON Street, after discussion, Alderman McGoddwin made a motion that the request of Scott St be received and tabled till a MASTER PLAN for naming Streets can be worked out, this motion was seconded by Alderman Williams, and was passed unanimously by the Council. Tfle request of Hubert Cowan and W.D.Haj;es for the opening of a Street from East Rock to Fletcher.+^' or from -East mock to Barton Street, came up for discussion, and the City Engineer reported that he had` - made an investigation of the proposed Streets, and found that the opening of either one of the proposed streets would be very expensive and Alderman Williams made a motion that the request be tabled till the financial condition of the 6treet Fund be improvved, this motion was seconded by Alderman Feathers and was passed unanimously by the Council. . The Mayor announced the appointment of Alderman Feathers to represent the Council to.work with representativesfrom the Gaeden Clubs in working out a master plan for renaming some of the Streets of Fayetteville,. Alderman McGoodwin made a motion that the Mayor be authorized to estabish 4 LOADONG ZONES on the SQUARE, Viz: next to the Royal Theatre on the South side, Next to the Palace Theatre on the East side, and next to the Walk ways on the North and West Sides, this motion was seconded by Alderman White, and on roll call by the Clerk, the following vote was recorded; Ayes: Richardson, Feathers, McGoodwin, Bohe, Kincaid, White and Kent. Nays Williams. and the Mayor declared Passed, as there were 7 Ayes and 1 Nay. The Mayor reported that he had received a check from the 'Nestern Hide and Fur Company, amounting to $60.00 for one year rent on a lease of approximately one acre of ground belonging to the Sewer Disposal Plant, to be used as a storage for Hides, furs, etc; Alderman Feathers made a motion that the lease be approved subject to conditions contained in the letter accompanying the -check, this motion was seconded by Alderman Richardson , Proerty owners Alderman McGoodwin made a motion that the City Clerk notify the property owners along the ordered.to put south side of Trenton Boulevard to construct sidewalks in front of their iroperty, grades, elevation inlsidewalks and location to be established by the City Engineer,wor$ to stait�within 30 days and be completed within on Trenton 60 days, this motion was seconded by Alderman Richardson, and was passed unanimously by the Council. Copy of notice: To You are hereby ordered to construct a concrete sidewalk in from of your prop- erty on Trenton Boulev ,grades, location and elevation will be established by the City Engineer. Dimension and specification will also be furnished by the City Engineer. Work must be begun in 30 days and completed in sixty days. By order of the City Council �S/J City Clerkv Alderman McGoodwin made a motion that the City Engineer be instructed to put in the necessary drainage befdre the sidewalks are constructed on the South side of Trenton Boulevard, this motion was seconded by Alderman Kincaid, and was passed unanimously by the Council. Bid for lighting Tie Mayor reported that there were 8 bids submitted on the Lighting contract for the Airport atlairport land that the low bid was submitted by the WRshington Transfer & Storage Comparq^^ayetteville, Arkansas, approved which was for $5,426.45, the next low bid being Stweart Electric Company of Fayetteville, which was 45,524.76. Alderman Feathers made a motion that the Bid of Washington Transfer & Storage CompanyAv (State License No.68) be approved and the Mayor and City Clerk be authorized to sign the contract,stibject I:aoi.approvalebyrthe Civil- l�eronautias•Admipistiation;.this mot 6n,,wa§,,zsbconded'by Alaorman McGoodwin, and was passed unanimously by the Council. Repairs on I Alderman White, chairman of the Building committee, reppgr��e d that the roof of the City Admin City Bldg astration Building was badly in need of repair and the steps,p�ia�haR on the second floor needed painting he reported that they had received a bid of $1!13.00 for repairing the roof and had another party €iguring I a bid, and made a motion that the Mayor be authorized to have the repairs and painting done, as soon I s the other bid is received, this motion was seconded by Alderman Richardson, and was passed ymanimously by the Council. Alderman Williams made a motion that the Council approve the purchase of land for the WATER PLAI JECT from Med Cashion, said tract containing approximately 33 acres, at a price of $5,000/00, together h the following Easements: PIPE LINE EASEMENT for $250.00, a RIGHT OF WAY EASEMENT for $750.00, and a K PROTECTION EASEMENT for $1$00:00, making a total consideration of $7,500.00 for land and easements, s motion was seconded by Alderman Kincaid and was passed unanimously by the Council.
