SI Alderman MoGoodwin made a motion that parking be eliminated on DICKSON,XM NO PARKING REET from Duncan Street to Garland Avenue, this motion was seconded by Alderman Pteathers on W.Dicksofllnd was passed unanimously by the Council• Contraot to Alderman Richardson, chairman of the Avdation committee,reported that he Tom Eads had received a number of bids on the different jobs coming up for the construction of the WEATHER COMMUNICATIONS STATION at the airport, Alderman Feathers made a motion to accept the lowest bid for the general construction,with the provision that he be required to carry liability insurance, the low bddder being Tom Eads, but if for any rsaon he should Alderman to qualify, then the next lowest bid would be accepted,this motion: :• was seconded by Alderman McGoodtin, and was passed unanimously by the Council* 4.2 Tfie Mayor reported that he had received check for $60.nn fromi..the Western Hide c & Fur Company, wanting to renew a lease on approximately one -acre of ground, belonging to ell -the Sewer Disposal Plant, which they had formerly leasedcfor a rendering plant, but had t< abandon, but now wanted to use for a Slaughter House, but•the Mayor reported that the Stat Board of Health had made an inspection of the location, and had recommended that the locat would not be suitable for a Slaughter House, Alderman Mo`loodwin made a motion that the Mas be instrieted to return the check and inform the Company that after considering the recomn a tion of the Board of Health, the City would not renew the lease, this motion was seconded by Alderman Kent and was passed unanimously by the Council* erk to be The Mayor reported,that it was his recommendation that another Clerk be added it ded the City Clerk's office, since they were planning to 'start sending out statements on the Sanitation, and other duties.having been added to the office, Alderman Feathers made a mo tion that the Mayor be authorized to hire another'Clerk, this motion was seconded by 91dei manKincaid, and was passed unanimously by the Council. ding The Mayor reported that the adding"machines in the City Clerk's office and it hines the Sewer Disposal office were very much out of date and inadequate for the work required be ih these offices, and reported that he had received a good offer of a trade in on both ght machines fSinew electric machineq,Alderman McGoodwin made a motion that the Mayor be au- thorized to,Jsgch equipment as needed and that funds will provide for, this motion was seconded by'Alderman Kent, and was passed unanimously by the Council.• Shop Tie Mayor reported that there was some old equipment at the City Shop, that we uipmt no use or value to the City, Alderman White made a motion that the Mayor be authorized to be dispose of this old eWuipment at the best price obtainable, this motion was seconded by Id Alderman Kincaid, and was passed unanimously by the Council.. Vere being no further business, Alderman Kincaid moved to adjmurn, seconds by Alderman Kent, which was passed unanimously by the Council, and the Mayor declared th Council adjourned. Alderman McGoodwin made a motion that the County.Assessor be requested to make a Assess- division of the Assessments along the border of the Street Improvement District on West I enta Center Street, so that the exact amount of the Assessed Valuation of the property within in Imp the District can be determined, this motion was seconded by Alderman Feathers,.and was District passed unanimously by -the Council.
