d gs, this motion was seconded by Alderman Gray, and was passed unanimously by the Counci:
Alderman Gray introduced an Ordinance, entitled " AN ORDINA NCE.ABOLISHING THE
ICE OF MUNICIPAL COURT CLERK OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE, WASHINGTON COUNTY, ARKANSAS,
FOR OTHER PURPOSES:
The Ordinance was read in its entirety by•the Clerk,and Alderman Gray made a
ion that=the rules be suspended, and the Ordinance placed on its second reading, this
ion was seconded by Alderman Williams, and was passed unanimously by the Council.

AN ORDINANCE ABOLISHING THE OFFICE OF MUITICIPAL COURT CLERK OF THE CITY OF
F YETTEVILLE, WASHINGTON COUNTY, ARKANSAS AND FOR - OTHER PURPOSES:
W13ereas, by reason of Che filing of state cases directly in the Circuit Court
o Washington County, Arkansas, the dubies of the Municipal Court have been diminished
b nearby one half, and,,
Whereas, Washington County has refused to pay one-half of the salary of the
III nicipal Court Clerk, which has increased the expense, of the Municipal Court $1,80n per

Whereas, clerical and ministerial work of the '''unicipal Court of the City of
fyetteville has been materially reduced and the City of Fayettevdlle is unable to obtain
s fficient contAibution from Washington County to justify the maintenance of the office

Now,therefore, be it ordained by the City Counail of the City of Fayetteville,
kansas:
Section 1. That the office of Municipal Court Clerk of the City of Fayetteville,
kansas is hereby abolished.

icense fees shall attach toall such licenses which are not paid within the time now or
ereafter provided by the Ordinances of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas.
Section 2. This Ordinance shall not affect or repeal any ordinances of the Ci
f Fayetteville, Arkansas providing for criminal violations for failure to purchase moto:
ehicle licenses within the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas.
Section 3. All Ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby
epealed.
Section 4. It appearing that no penalties are now provided for failure to pa� mo`
otor vehicle license taxes or, fees to the City of Fayetteville after such fees have become
elinquent, and it further appearing that many owners of motor vehicles subject to the
license fees proviagd by the.Ordinances of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas have not paid
heir licensesfwithin the time prescribed by the Ordinances of the City of Fayetteville,
rkansas, and that penalties should be provided for delinquencies in making payments, an
emergency is hereby declared to exist and this Ordinance, being necessary for the preser -

rtificate of public convenience and necessity to operate a bus line from Fayetteville,
kansas to Van Buren, Arkansas over U.S.Highway No.62 and State Highway No. 59 through
rmington, Arkansas, Prairie Grove, Arkamsas, Lincoln, Arkansas and to terminate at Van -
ren,. Arkansas, and,
Whereas, the City Council of the City of Fayetteville.. Arkansas is of the
inion that additional public surface transportation is needed over said route, partic-
a.rly between Lincoln, Arkansas and Fayetteville, Arkansas.
Now, therefore, be it resdlved by the Ci#y Council of the City of Fayettevil
