AN ORDINANCE ABOLISHING THE OFFICE OF MUITICIPAL COURT CLERK OF THE CITY OF F YETTEVILLE, WASHINGTON COUNTY, ARKANSAS AND FOR - OTHER PURPOSES: W13ereas, by reason of Che filing of state cases directly in the Circuit Court o Washington County, Arkansas, the dubies of the Municipal Court have been diminished b nearby one half, and,, Whereas, Washington County has refused to pay one-half of the salary of the III nicipal Court Clerk, which has increased the expense, of the Municipal Court $1,80n per a num, and, Whereas, clerical and ministerial work of the '''unicipal Court of the City of fyetteville has been materially reduced and the City of Fayettevdlle is unable to obtain s fficient contAibution from Washington County to justify the maintenance of the office Municipal Court Clerk of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas. Now,therefore, be it ordained by the City Counail of the City of Fayetteville, kansas: Section 1. That the office of Municipal Court Clerk of the City of Fayetteville, kansas is hereby abolished. This Ordinance shall not affect or repeal any ordinances of the Ci f Fayetteville, Arkansas providing for criminal violations for failure to purchase moto: ehicle licenses within the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas. Section 3. All Ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby epealed. Section 4. It appearing that no penalties are now provided for failure to pa� mo` otor vehicle license taxes or, fees to the City of Fayetteville after such fees have become elinquent, and it further appearing that many owners of motor vehicles subject to the license fees proviagd by the.Ordinances of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas have not paid heir licensesfwithin the time prescribed by the Ordinances of the City of Fayetteville, rkansas, and that penalties should be provided for delinquencies in making payments, an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this Ordinance, being necessary for the preser - ation of the public health, peace and safety, shall be in full force and effect from an fter its passage and approval. Arkansas, and, Whereas, the City Council of the City of Fayetteville.. Arkansas is of the inion that additional public surface transportation is needed over said route, partic- a.rly between Lincoln, Arkansas and Fayetteville, Arkansas. Now, therefore, be it resdlved by the Ci#y Council of the City of Fayettevil kansas, that: The Arkansas Public Service Commission be and they are hereby urged to ant a certificate of public convenience and mecessity to Safeway Lines, Inc. for the leration of motor buses between Fayetteville, Arkansas and Van Buren, Arkansas over U.S. ghway No.62. and State Highway No.59 by way of Farmington, Arkansas, Prairie Grove, kansas, and Lincoln, Arkansas.
