Alderman Bohe introduced an Ordinance entitled"AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING HE PURCHASE OF PARKING METERS AND INSTALLATION THEREOF, AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES". The Ordinance was .read in its entirety by the Clerk, alderman Whitfield made a mo= tion that the rules be suspended and the Ordinance place on its second reading, this motion was seconded by Alderman Gray, and was passed unanimously by the Council* Ty,e Clerk then read the Ordinance the second time, and after discussion, Alderman 11illiams made a motion that the ,rules be further.suspendedo and the Ordinance placed on its third and final reading, this motion was seconded by Alderman Whitfield, and was passed unanimously by the Council. The Clerk then read the Ordinance the third and final time. The Mayor then put the question "Shall the Ordinance pass"?, and on roll call by the Clerk, the foll-wing vote was recorded; Ayes: Hale, Adkisson, Bohe, Williams, Whitfield, White and Gray. Nays : None. Absent and not voting: Harlan. And the Mayor declared the Ordinance passed, as there were .7 Ayes, and•no Nays. Alderman Adkisson made a motion that.the emergency clause be adopted, second by Alderman Whitfield, and on roll call by the Clerk, the following vote was recorded; Ayes: Hale, Adkisson,Bohe, Williams, Whitfield, White and Gray. Nays:None. Absent and not voting: Harlan. And the Mayor declared the emergency clause adopted, as there were 7 Ayes, and no Nays, ORDINANCE NUMBER 9-2-8-. AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF PARKING, METERS AND INSTALLATION THEREOF; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. Whereas, at a special Municipal election held in the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas on December 2, 1947, the qualified electors approved Ordinance No.9240 which authorized installation of parking meters in the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Fayetteville, .Arkansas: Section 1: The Board of Public Affairs of.the City of Fayetteville is author- ized`and directed to advertise for bids for the purchase and•installation of not to exceed one thousand (1000Q) parking meters to be installed in such places•as may be determined) in the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas, and to secure such bids taking into consideration the various types and quality of parking meters, and to submit same td the City Council befere awarding a contract, with the right reserved to reject any and all bids. a Section 2: Meters shall be purchased on a per-unit basin, either installed or f.o'.b* factory and shall be paid for out of the proceeds of the operation, exclusively. Section 3: Contract for the purchase•of such meters shall be made in the name of the City of Fayetteville, after approval by the City Council and upon'order of the Board of Public Affairs;'and signed by the Mayor and attested and sealed by the City Clerk. Section 4: Thi's ordinance being necessary for the preservation of the public health, peace and safety, an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this ordi- nance shall be in full force'and effect from and after its passage and approval* Passed and approved this 8th.day of December, 1947. 0 Approved G( Mayor Attest _ tyel rk PARK.
