avetteville City Council met in regular session, Monday, August 18th, 1947.

Minutes of the regular meeting of August 4th and the adjourned meeting of August 12th,

Iderman l^!hite made a motion that the bills be allowed, -as approved, seconded by alderman
VIhitfield, which was passed unanimously •by the Council.
July The July reports• pf Roy Nix,° as Sewer Service -Collector, Jw.McGehee, as City
ro]lector and as City Clerk, were presented by the Clerk, alderman Williams made a motion

Donation
Alderman Xlhitfield made a motion that .the sum of $50.00 be donated to
Boys Club
the Boys' Club Building Fdnd and that the City Council offer a site at the City Park
X50 on which to construct a building for the Boys Club, if the Buliding committee could find
a location at.the Park which they thought would be suitable, this motion was seconded by
alderman Gray, and was passed unanimously by the Council.
Fire Dept Alderman Williams made a motion that the City purchase a -1 ton Cgevrolet
do buy cha.ssis, at a price of $1400.00, and place the pumper and other equipment now on the
1 ton old i•z�al truck on the new chassis,, said truck to be paid for out of the pro -
Chassis ceeds of the Bond Issue, this' motion was seconded by alderman Adkisson,,Adkisson,,and was passed
unanimoVsly bynther Council.
Alderman Whitfield made a motion that a "NO PARKIIIG ARES " be established
Io parking on the east side of Mill Street, from Pock street to Huntsville Street, this motion was
on E Side seconded by alderman White, and was passed unanimously by the Council.

There being no further business, alderman 71hitfield moved to adjourn,
seconded by alderman Whitey which was passed unanimously by the Council, and the Mayor
