Price Dickson appeared be fore*the council with a•request that the Council Bus approve the application of Hershel Skelton for a certificate of PUBLIC CONVENIENCE and I NECESSITY to operate•a bus service between the Cities of Fayetteville and Springdale, Ito after discussion, alderman" Hale introduced the following Resolution, and moved its adop- Springam tion, seconded by alderman WAlW14MAt which.was passed unanimously by the Council. RE90LUTIONO ' LO WHEREAS, there are numerous residents of Springdale and Fayetteville, Arkansas who travel daily between said Cities and it is the opinion of the City -Council of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas, that additional•public passenger carriers are needed and will greatly improve public convenience of thdse persons who must or desire to travel between said Cities; NOW, THEREFORE, "BE IT RESOLVED by the -City Council of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas, that the Arkansas Public Service Commission be and it is hereby requested to grant an additional Certificate of Public -Convenience and Necessity to'some person, firm or copporation, who is able and will make such additional service available to our people* Adopted this 9th day of December, 1946• eyor Attest i Gjay cleric The Clerk presented a Memorial to J.M.Williams, which had been prepared by .M.wil- a committeeof the Hospital Board, and adopted by the Hospital Board as a whole. tams Memorial Alderman Hale made a motion that the Memorial be received and filed, and that it be made of record of the minutes of the City Councils this motion was seconded by al- derman Bronson, and was passed unanimously by the Council* IN MEMORIUM J.M.Williams WHEREAS J.M.Williams, a long time citizen and resident of the City of Fayettevil' departed this life on the 24th day of September 19460 and WHEREAS he was for many years president of the board of trustees of the Saute ville City Hospital, and devoted much of his time,and very slendid talents to the sua cess of that institution, even to the rxtent of contributing his own funds to many of i needs, and WHEREAS, in addition to his interest in the.financial• success of the City Hos- pital, he always maintained in his heart, a -most kindly sympathy for every' patient, frequently visiting them and giving his -happy greeting and encouragement,•and WHEREAS he will be missed by medical Staff; nurses and patients, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the -City Hospital has suffered by the death of "Jim"Wil- liams, an irreparable loss, and the City and community, as well, feel the loss of so fi a citizens and his family the loss of a devoted husband and father, that we extend to t'. family, the Medical Staff, the Hospital Superintendant, the nurses"and patients, our deepest sympathy, and assure each of them that each and every member of the beard of trustees, share with them, this great but inevitable lose. Mr.H.L.Woodward and a Mr Watts, with the State Health Department, appeared Rose lbefore the Council, with reference to the ROSE LAWN DAIRY, of Muscogee, Oklahoma, delive Lawn DairEilk in the City.of Fayetteville, without a PERMIT from the State BOARD OF HEALTH, after discussion, alderman Gregory made a motion that the Mayor be authorized to instruct Dr. Allen A.Gilbert, the City Health Offiber, to notify ROSE LAWN DAIRY to cease delivering milk in the City of Fayetteville.. Arkansas, until a Permit from the State Board of Heali is obtained; this motion was seconded by .alderman White, and was passed unanimously by the Council* s ing,
