August The Clerk presented the August reports of Roy Nix, as Sewer Service Collector and reports rhe rolice Department, And alderman Stubblefield presented the August report of the Wate: Department, alderman Gregory made a motiontthat the reports be received and filed, recon Py alderman Williams, which was passed unanimously by the Council. To buy Aldei"man Stubblefield made a motion that the Mayor be authorized to order 12 12 raffic lights, this motion was seconded by alderman Adkisson, and ;jas passed unanimousl raffic Y they Council* i hts I Alderman Hale made a motion that the Ordinance commuttee be instructed to pre g are an ordinance requiring all drivers of motor vehicles to drive on dim lights in the City of,Fayetteville, this motion was seconded by alderman vregory, and was passed unani -ously by the Council* ay for II Alderman Adkdsson made a motion that the bill of Abshier-Bryan for a 1946, ord Car .Ford Deluxe car, amounting to $1,204.20 be allowed, this motion was seconded by alderman Stubblefield, amd was passed unanimously by the Council. Alderman Stubblefield introduced an Ordinance, entitled, " AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTI E WEST HALF OF THE ATORTHWEST QUARTER OF SECTION NINE (9), IAT TOV1I4TSHIP SIXTEEN (16) PIOR' VGE THIRTY (30) V1EST.4 WASHINGTOIi COUNTY, ARKANSAS, AS PART OF THE CITY OF FAYETTFVILLE SIGNING THE TERRITORY ACCEPTED TO WAP,DS IN THE CITY OF FAYETTFVILLE, ARKAIISAS AIM FOR HER PURPOSES. The Clerk read the Ordinance in its entirety, alderman Bronson made a motion at the rules be suspended and the Ordinance placed on its second reading, this motion s seconded by alderman Stubblefield, and was passed unanimously by the Council. The Clerk then read the Ordinance the sec(bnd time, and after discussdolb, aid n Halesmmdeademotion that the rules be further suspended and the.Ordinance placed on i ird and final reading, this motion was seconded by alderman White, which was passed un usly by the Council. The Clerk then read the Ordinance the third and final time. e Mayor then put the question "Shall the Ordinance pass?," and on roll call by the Cie .e follmwing vote was recorded; Ayes: Bronson, Geegory, White, Stubblefield, Williams, kisson and Hale. Nays: None. And the Mayor declared the Ordinance Passed, as there wer Ayes, and no hays. Alderman Stibblefield made a motion that the Emergency Clause be adopted, t tion was seconded by aldermam Gregory, and on roll call by the Clerk, the following vo s recorded; Ayes Bronson, Gregory, White, Stubb&field, Williams, Bohe, Adkisson and ys: None. IN lights on South College Avenue and 4 lights on South Washington Avenue, this motion way S.9Pa&h. econded by alderman Hale, and was passed unanimously by the Council. t Pcp Corn �, Mr.G.W.Widener appeared be fore the Council with a request for permission to s and anstall a pop corn stand on his lot at Center & School Streets, alderman Bohe made a motion Canter & that the request be granted, and the installation be done under the supervision of the City School �gineer, this motion was seconded by alderman Bronson, amd was passed unanimously by th' �ouncil: Patrol The Mayor presented the matter of having a sign put on the Patrol car, des4g- c1r Sign hating it as such, after discussion, alderman Adkisson made a motion that the Words "POLICE PATROL NO 3", be painted on the Patrol Car, this motion was seconded by alderman Gregory; �nd was passed unanimously by the Council. Sti�G.ShipleI The Mayor reported a vacancy on the BOARD OF TRUSTEES for the City Hospital appointed aused by the death of J.M.Williams, and stated that W.G.Shipley had'beeb recommended for H sp Bd ppoimtment, alderman Gregory made a motion that the.appointment of W.G.Shipley as a mem e: Pf the Board of Trustees for the City Hospital, be approved, this motion was seconded by I pLlderman Hale, and received the unanimous vote of the Council. WIF.Thomas The Mayor reported that a vacancy had occurred on.the Board of Assessors Appointed or'Annex No 1 to Sever Improvemen District No 1, caused by the death of U.L.Smelser, al er- S wer }pan Stubblefield made a motion that W.F.Thomas be appointed to fill the vacancy, seconde Alsessor Py alderman Adkisson, which was passed unanimously by bhe Council.
