_Aderman Bronson made a motion that the bills bevalloudd as approved, seconded by alder 1
ite,.which was regularly passed by the Council* .
Tie Clerk presented the July reports of Roy Nix as Sewer Service Collector,
July repQ}enry George as Building Inspector, J.W.McGehee as City Collector and as City Clerk, and
filed ��lderman Stubblefield presented the July report of the Water Department, alderman Williai
ade a motion that the:reports be received and fi;ed, seconded by alderryan White, which
as passed unanimously by the Council.
Alderman Stubblefield reported that the Committee had made some further inv
tigation as to the cost; of erecting a repair shop for the City, and said the cost Would
approximately $3,000.00
Alderman Williams reported that he had contacted L.L.Browne at the University
with reference to an auxiliary Fire Station, and that Mr Browne said that the University
a lead no building at this time that could be made available, but said he felt sure that tht
University vottld furnish a lot for the Buildipgif a suitable location could be found;
The Mayor instructed the Fire Committee to continue their investigation and sea

Gen Fd Alderman Stubblefield introduced an Ordinance, entitled a' AN ORDIPLhNCE
EGULATING TRAFFIC ON AND NEAR THE SQUARE OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS.
The Ordinance was read in its entirety by the Clerk, and alderman Stub-
tlefield made a notion that the rules be suspended, and the Ordinance placed on its secos
reading, this motion was seconded by alderman Ad.kisson, and was passed unanimously by tha
ouncil.
The Cleric then read the Ordinance the second time, and after discussion, alder

AN ORDINANCE REGULATING TRAFFIC ON AND NEAR THE- SQUARE OF THE CITY OF FAYETTE-
ILLE, ARKANSAS. 0
BE IT ORDAINED BY ,THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAi'ETTEV ILLE, ARKANSAS:
SECTION I. Left turns•shall'not be permitted at the Northwest and Southeast
corners of�the square, by vehicles traveling on the square., or entering the square from
djoining streets.
SEC'T'ION2. All persons convicted of a violation of this ordinance shall be deemed
guilty of a misdemeanor and subject to a fire of not less than one dollar nor more than
'en dollars for each offense.
SECTION 3. The public peace, health and safety being of immediate concern, an
mergency is declared to exist and this ordinance shall take effect and be in force from
and after its passage, approval and publication.
Passed and approved this 19th day of August, 1946.

JDITION LYING EAST OF UNITED STATES HIGHWAY N0.71,AID THE EAST HALF OF THE NORTHEAST
JARTER OF SECTION TWENTYWONE, TOWNSHIP SIXTEEN NORTH, RANGE THIRTY WEST, AS PARTS OF THE
ITY OF FAYETTEVILLE; ASSIGNING THE TERRITORIES ACCEPTED TO WARDS IN THE CITY OF FAYETTE-
ILLE, ARKANSAS AIM FOR OTHER PURPOSES."
The Ordinance was read in its entirety by the Clerk, and alderman Bronson
Dade a motion that the rules be suspended and the Ordinance placed on its second reading,
his motion was seconded by alderman Gregory, and was passed unanimoysly by the Council.
The Clerk then read the Ordinance the second time, and after discussion,
alderman Hale made a motion that the rules be further suspended, and the Ordinance placed
on its third and final reading, -this motion ',vas seconded by ald.erman•White, and was passe
unanimously by the Council.
The Clerk then read the Ordinance the third and final time.

WHEREAS the County Court of Washington County, Arkansas entered an order on

Fayetteville, Arkansas; and all that part lying West of South College Avenue as extend
hereby assigned to and made a part of Ward One of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas.
SECTION 111. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith ars
reby repealed and it appearing that certain municipal activities are necessary for the

SECTION TEN, TOWNSHIP SIXTEEN NORTH, RANGE THIRTY WEST, AS PART OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVI LE;
ASSIGNING THE TERRITORY ACCEPTED TO WARDS IN THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS APED FOR
OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS the County Court -of -Washington County, Arkansas entered an order
on July 16, 1946, annexing the Norteast Quarter of the Solthwest Quarter of .Section
Ten (10), Township Sixteen (16) North, Range Thirty (30) Vest, as part and to the the
CiVy of Fayetteville, Arkansas, and
WHEREAS more than thirty days has expired from the date of the order of
the County Court and no app4s have been taken from said order and the County Clerk of
Washington County, Arkansas, has certified said proceedings to the City of Fayetteville,
Arkansas as provided by law.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Fayette-
ville, Arkansas:

Ten, Township Sixteen North, Range Thirty West, be and the same is hereby accepted as a
part of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas.

made a motion that the Council adjourn till Tuedday Night at 8 0 Clock, this motion was

eclared the Council adjourned till Tuesday Night at 8 O'Clock, September 3rd, 1946.
