Present: Mayor G.T.Sanders, City Clerk J.W.McGehee, City 9-ttorney Geo.Vauhan, City Engi- neer E.T.Brown, and aldermen: Bronson, Gregory, White, Stubblefield, Bohe, Adkisson and Hale. Absent:Alderman Williams* Minutes of the regular meeting of July 22nd, were read and approved. Toe question of the building and equipment for a repair shdp for the City came up for discussion, and alderman Bronson made a motion that the mayter be referred to the Water and Street Committes with power to actp this motion was seconded by alderman Adkisson, and was passed unanimously by the Council.' Alderman Bronson reported a request for a Street light on Ila $tfeet;fdt Lincoln Avenue, after discusssion, the Mayor said he would notify the Southwestern Gas & Electric Co. To install A light at this location.' r V Alderman Stubblefield made a motion that a STOPin �be installed where Mt Sequoyah road approaches Highway # 450 this motion was seconded by alderman White, and was passed unanimously by the Council. Alderman Stubblefield introduced an Ordinance, -entitled, " AN ORDINANCE TO PRQV.IDE FOR THE GRANTING OF PERMITS FOR THE ERECTION OF TEMPORARY BUILDINGS, AND PROVID- ING FOR THE DISPOSITION OF SAME". The Ordinance was read in its entirety by the Clerk, alderman Bronson made a motion that the rules be suspended, and the Ordinance placed on its second reading, this motion was seconded by alderman Stubblefield, and was passed unanimously by the Council. The Clerk then read the Ordinance the second time, and after discussion, alderman Gregory made a motion that the rules be further suspended, and the Ordinance placed on its third and final reading, this motion was seconded by alderman White, and was passed unanimousay by the Council, the Clerk then read the Ordinance the third and final time. The Mayor then put the question " Shall the Ordinance pass?", and on roll call by the Clerk, the following vote was recorded; Ayes: Bronson, Gregory, White, Stu blefield, Bohe, Adkisson and Hale. Absent and not voting: Alderman Williams And the Mayor declared the Ordinance passed, as there -mere 7 Ayes, and no Nays, Alderman Gregory Made a motion that that the Emergency Lause be adopted, this motion was seconded by alderman Adkisson, and on roll by the Clerk, the following vote was receorded; Ayes Bronson, Gregory, White, Stubblefield, Bohe, Adkisson and Hale. Absent and not voting: Alderman Williams. and the Mayor declared the emergency clause adopted, as there were 7 Ayes, and no Nays. (Copy of Ordinance follws on page 76) 75 0R DTNFL4 NC E N0. 8-9-9: ; t AN ORDINANCE TO PROVIDE FOR THE GRANTING OF PERMITS FOR THE. ERECTION OF TEb- PORARrY BUILDINGS, AND PROVIDING FOR THE DISPOSITION OF SAME: . BE IT ORDA INED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS: SECTION I. No permit shall be issued for the erection or construction of a temporary building•withi°n the limits of the first fire zone of the•City.of Fayetteville as now designated or as -hereafter designated or extended by the City Council until the per- son desiring such permit- shall make written •request in the following form: TO THE BUILDING INSPECTOR OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS. - The undersigned does hereby petition the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas for authordty to erect or construct a•temporary building on the following described property: (Description) • In consideration of the issuing of the permit .the petitioner agrees that within two years after the date set by the President of the United States as the end of the period of emergency, and upon notdce of that date given by. the City .of Fayetteville, he will di' - mantle and remove, the said temporary building. Dated this day of , 19 Signatures SECTION 2. Within the meaning of tl?is ordinance , the word " Temporary Building" or its plural, shall beheld to mean any building constructed or erected of ,metal and commomly known under the general classification of. "Quonset Hut", or any other similar type.of building. I 1 . S86T ION 3. This Ordinance shall be cumulative of other ordinances on the same ubject and is intended -to be supplementary thereta and not to repeal any section of any ordinance, and the regular building permit shall ba, used in connection with.this ordinance, fees shall be collected -in accordance with other ordinances on the same subject, and upon the dismantling of said -temporary building, anothen fee shall be paid and another permit) issued, where it is desired to construct�a permanant building. SECTION 4. It being necessary for the public peace, health, and safety.9 an emergency is declared to exist and this ordinance shall take.effect and be in force immediately upon its passage and publication.
