Present: Mayor G.T.Sanders, City Clerk J.W.McGehee, City Attorney Price Dickson, City Engineer E.T.Brown, Fire Chief Henry George, and Aldermen; Bronson, Gregory, Banks, Stubblefield, McRoy and Hale. Absent: aldermen Williams and Adkisson. Alderman Banks made a motion that the membership of the Volunteer Firemen olunter be increased from 20 to 30, effective as soon as possible, this motion was seconded by Firemen alderman Gregory, and was passed unanimously by the Council. increased ' 20 to 30 Alderman Banks made a motion that the expenses of 2 firemen be paid to the Firemen's Convention at Jonesboro the 17=18=19th,;of.�OdVober; this motion was seconded by Expense of alderman Gregory, and was passed unanimously by -the Council. f emen to convention Aldefjman Hale made a motion that Mayor,City Engineer and Assistant Engineer together with the Sewer Committee go ahead with preliminary plans for the Sewer Disposal Plant, this motion was seconded by alderman Bronson, and was passed unanimously by the Council. Steve Salusbury Alderman Hale made a motion that the Council approve the appointment of operator Steve Salusbury as OPERATOR of the SEWER DISPOSAL PLANT, effective November 1st, 1945, Sewer this motion was seconded by alderman Banks, and was passed unanimously by the Council. Disposal. There being no further business, alderman McRoy moveddto adjourn, seconded by alderman Bronson, which was duly passed by the Council, and the Mayor declared the Council adjourned. That.the rate of taxes for the CITY -GENERAL FUND purposes, for the year 1945.9 be, and the'same is hereby declared to be Five(5)Mills on each dollar of.assessed valuation of all real.and personal property within the corporate limits of the.City of Fayetteville, Arkansas, as shown by the Assessment.Books for State and County purposes, and that the same is hereby.levied; and the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorised and direct ed to certify this Levy to the County Clerk of Washington tonty, Arkansas, to the end that the same be placed on the Books and collected with the State and County Taxes*, SECTION 2.
