The Clerk presented the September reports of Roy Nix, as Sewer Service Col-
t lector, The Police Department, J.W.McGehees as City Clerk and as City Collector, alder-
orts man Banks made a motion that the 'r®ports be received and filed, seconded by alderman
Williams, which was passed unanimously by the Council.
Alderman Hale made a motion a warrant for $62,50 be allowed Paul Young for
ul 2 of pxperisdnofypreliminary plans of CIVIC CENTER,'this motion was seconded by alderman
ng al- Bronson, and was passed unanimously by the Council.
Alderman Stubblefield introduced an Ordinance, entitled "AN ORDINNNCE EXTEND-
ING THE FIRST FIRE ZONE OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE ABOLISHING THE RESIDENTIAL FIRE
ZONE AND ANNEXING ALL RESIDENTIAL FIRE 'LONE PROPERT� TO THE INTERMEDIATE FIRE ZONE1
The Ordinance was read in its entirety by -the Clerk, alderman Bronson made a
motion that the rules be suspended and the Ordinance placed on its second reading, this
motion was seconded by alderman 4regory, and was passed unanimously by the Council,*
The Clerk then read the Ordinance the second time, and after discussion, alderman
Gregory made a motion that the rules be further suspended, and the Ordinance placed on

Alderman Gregory moved the adoption of the emergency clause, seconded by alder-

Uregory,Banks, Stubblefield, Williams, McRoy and`Hale. Nays:None. Absent and not voting:
Alderman Adkisson. And the Mayor declared, adopted, asthere were 7 Ayes, and no Nays.

AN ORDINANCE EXTENDING THE FIRST FIRE ZONE OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILIE,ABOLISH-
ING THE RESIDENTIAL FIRE ZONE AND ANNEXING ALL RESIDENTIAL FIRE ZONE PROPERTY TO THE
INTERMEDIATE FIRE ZONE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS:
S',ECTION I
That from and after the passage, approval and publication of this ordinances
there shall be only two fir* zones within the corporate limits of the City,of Fayette-
ville, Arkansas, which shall be knovm as (1) The First Fire Zdne, and (2) The Interme-
diate Fire Zone.
SECTION II,
The _First Fire Zone includes all property located within the following boundaries,
to -wit:
Beginning at a point where the east line of South Locust Avenue intersects the nort:
line of west Rock Street and running thence west along the north line of Rock Street to
the east line of south West Avenue, thence north along the east line of West Avenue to
the north line of line of West Center Street, thence west along the north line of Cents:
Street to the east line of University Avenue, thence north along the east line of Unive:
sity Avenue to the north line of West Dickson Street, thence weat along the north line
of Dickson Street to the east line of Arkansas Avenue, thence north along the east line
of Arkansas Avenue to the South line of Ida Streetthe east along the south li$?Eof
Ida Street to the east line of Gregg Avenue, thence north along the east line of Gregg

ECTION III.
All territoty now or hereafter within the corporate limits of the City of Fayette-
ille, Arkansas, and outside of the territory embraced in Section 11 of this Ordinance is
n the Intermediate Fire Zone of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas.
ECTION IV.
The building codes of the Oity of FayetteVille, Arkansas as they now are or may
hereafter become with reference to the First Fire Zone and Intermediate Fire Zone shallle
applicable to the First Fire.Zone and the Intermediate Fire Zone as herein described andl V
there being no residential fire zone as defined.in the bublding codes, the building code '
of the City of Fayetteville insofar as they refer to and govern construction, maintenance
nd repair in the areas heretofore designated as the residential fire zone XM are hereby
epealed.
SECTION V.
All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealer

VACATING AND CLOSING AN ALLEY UN GUNTER ADDITION TO THE CITY OF FAYETTEVULLE".
The Ordinance was read in its entirety by the Clerk, alderman Brohson'made a

AN ORDINANCE VACATING AND CLOSING AN ALLEY IN GUNTER ADDITION TO THE CITY
FAYETTEVILLE*
Whereas a petition has been presented to the City Council of the City of Fayett
ille signed by all persons6do3Yng lands adjacent to an alley hereinafter particularly de
cribed, sEating among other things that said alley has never been ppened or maintained
nd requesting that said alley be vacated and closed as provided by law in such cases; a
Whereas notice of aehedn4ng on said petition has been given in all respects as
squired by law and said hearing was held at the time and place set forth in said notice; and
Whereas the City C.Cuncil of the City of Fayetteville is pf the opinion that, sai
alley should be vacated and closed;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Fayetteville,
Arkansas, that an alley between Rebecca and Johnson Streets, bounded on the East by Bloc
+L7, Gunter Addition, and on the West by Blocks 5 and 6, Gunter Addition to the City of
ayetteville, Arkansas, be and the same is hereby'vacated and closed and title to said
lands is hereby vested as provided by law.
Passed and approved this 1st day of October, 1945.'

Alderman Banks made a motion that the Council go into executive session,seconded
ty alderman Gregory, which was passed unanimously by the Council, and the Mayor declared
Council in executive session, adter discussion of various administrative matters, alderm
McRoy made a motion that the Council go out of executive session; seconded by alderman
Bronson, which was passed unanimously by the Council, and the Mayor declared the Council
in regular session,
Alderman Gregory made a motion that the Sewer Committee contact W.C.Smith an
see what can be worked out with reference to work to be done on the Sevier Disposal Plant
this motion was seconded by alderman Hale, and was passed unanimosly by the Council.
There being no further business, alderman MoRoy moved to adjourn, secomded
by alderman Bronson, which was duly passed by the Council, and the Mayor declared the Co -
