Absent: Aldermen,Brorison,Gregory and Banks* The absence of a Quorem was noted, and alderman McRoy moved to adjourn till 5 O'Clock P.M.Friday the 29th, 1944, this motion was seconded by alderman Adkise.on, and was passed unanimously by the Council, and the Mayor declared the Council adjourned till 5 O'Cloek P.M.,Friday the 29th,1944. Minutes of the regular meetingsof December 11th and December 26th, were read and approved. The November reports of Henry George as Acting Chief of the Fire Department and as Building Inspector, and V.James Ptak as Municipal Judge were presented by the Clerk, 3eports alderman Stubblefield made a motion that the reports be received and filed, seconded by alderman McRoy, which was passed unanimously by the Council. $50.00 Alderman Banks, chairman of the Fire committee, stated that Henry George, Acting dor Fire Chief had offered PTTENDANCE PRIZES to the VOLUNTEER FIREMEN, for the year 1944,X1Q 3,1� Ainountingtton$50.00, with the imtention of paying for them personally, and alderman prizes prizes- Stubblefield made a, motion that a warrant be drawn on the Fire fund to take care of the nen amount of the prizes, seconded by alderman McRoy, which was passed unanimously by the Council. Alderman Bronson introduced the following RESOLUTION and moved its adoption) seconded by alderman McRoy, which was passed unanimously by the Council. R E S O .L U T I 0 N. 3equst WHEREAS,there a:e five retail liquor stores in•the City of Fayetteville at the present time, which is more than one liquor store for each two thousand residents of the 10 more City of Fayetteville, and, Liquor �ermiits WHEREAS, it is the opinion of the City Council of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas, ce issued that there are allready enough retail liquor stores in •the City of Fayetteville and that additional retail liquor stores are not only definitelynot needed, but are highly undesirable; NOW, THEREFORE,, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Fayettevilll, Arkansas, that the Commission of Revenues of the State of Arkansas be and he is hereby memorialized to refuse to grant additional retail liquor Dda3eas' permits to any person) firm or corporation for any other or addittonal locations whatsoever within the City of Fayetteville; and further, that Said Commissioner be memorialized to refuse to grant or transfer retail liquor dealers' permits to any premises other than those allready occupied by licensees. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Commdssioner of Revenues of the State of Ark- ansas, be and he is hereby requested to notify the City of Fayetteville of the filing of any applications for retail liquor dealers' permits within the City of Fayetteville, by i any parsons, firms or corporations for any premises not'presently licemsed by said Con* missioner and occupded by the licensee, and that the City of Fayetteville be granted ani opportdnity to be heard prior to any action taken on such applications by said Commissioner of Revenues. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a duly authenticated copy of this resolution be forwarded to the Commissioner of Revenues of the State of Arkansas. Adopted this 29th day of December, 1944.
