Present I: Mayor Pro -tem G.T.Sanders, City,Clerk J.W.McGehee, City Attorney Price Dmckson,City Engineer E.T.Brown, Acting Fire Chief Henry George, aldermen; Bronson, Gregory,Banks, Stubblefi Williams, McRoy and Adkisson. Minutes of the regular meeting of October 2nd, were read and approved. The Clerk presdnted the September reports of Henry George as Acting Chief of reports the Fire Department, Roy Nix as Sewer Service Collector, V.James Ptak as Municipal Judge, J.W.McGehee as City Collector and as City Clerk, alderman Gregory made a motion that the reports be received and filed, seconded by alderman McRoy, which was passed unanimously by the Council* 2 Coon. appointed It was brought to the attention of the Council that there were two vacancies ater on the Board of Commissioners in Wafer Improvement.District No.2, and the Mayor appoint Imp Dist # 2 O.L.Lierly and Ben Tune to fill.these vace.ncies, alderman Adkisson made a motion that these appointments be approved by "the Cou6cil, this -motion was seconded by alderman Gregory, and was passed unanimously by the Council. rr Close Street The Petition to close an unused street in •Block)1;)Ferguson Addition, that was in Blk 14 presented to the Council at the regular meeting of October 2nd,came up for hearing, and Ferguson it was noted that no PROTESTS had been filed against -it.,, and alderman Stubblef ield" Add. introduced an Ordinance entitled AN ORDINANCE TO ABANDON EARTION OF UNUSED STREET �an3 The Clerk read the Ordinanceinn itsenTi-re�ys al3erman-Sronson marc e a motion that the rules be suspended, and the Ordinance placed on its second reading, this motion was seconded by alderman Gregory, and wa-s passed unanimogsly by the Council The Clerk then read the Ordinance the second time, and afterxidiscussion, alderman Gregory made a motion that the rules be further suspended, and the Ordinance placed on its third and final reading, this motion was seconded by alderman McRoy, and was passed unanimo5tsylby the Council. BE IT Ordained and Enacted by the City Council of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas: That, Whereas, a proper notice has been published for two weeks of hearinj on petition to abandon portion of abused street; and it appears that all abutting property-ownera have consented thereto; and it.8urther appears to the best. interests of the public that said street be abandoned to permit industrial expansion;therefore, the unused street adjacent to the St.Louis-San Francisco Railway upon the following property is hereby declared to be and the same shall forever be abandoned to any claim of the public or the said City upon same for use as a.street, to -wit: Beginning at the nortwest corner of Lot 22, Block 14 of Ferguson Additiol to the City of Fayetteville, thence hest to the St Louis -San Francisco Railway Right - of way, thence in a. southeasterly direction following said right -of way to the point where said right-of-way intersects the North line of Wall Street extended or U.S.High- way 62, thence East to the West line of Lot 17 in said Block 14, thence Northwesterly following the west line of Lots 17, 18, 19, 20,21 and 22 to the point of beginning.
