ayetteville City Council met in regular session, Monday October 2nd, 1944.
resent: Mayor Pro -tem G.T.Sandera, City Clerk J.W.McGehee; City Engineer E.T.'Brown,
ldermen; Bronson, Gregory, Banks, Stubblefield, W illiains, McRoy and Adkisson;
of the regular meeting of Sept 18th wore read and approved.

lderman Bronson made a motion that the bills be allowed, as approved, seconded by aldermi

The Clerk presentalhe reports of G.T.Sanders as Ex -officio Chief of Police,f
enry George as Acting Cheef of the Fire Department for August -aa, and as Bui14
nspector for the month of September, alderman McRoy made a motion .that the repoets be re
eived and filed, seconded by alderman Gregory, which was passed unanimously by the Counc.
Alderman Gregory introduced the following RESOLUTION and moved its adoption
by alderman Bronson, which was passed unanimously 4.by the Council'* -

IT IS RESOLVED, that the City Clerk is hereby directed to publish the following
tics once each week for two weeks:
NOTICE.
All interested property owners are hereby notified that a petition has been filed
fore the City Council of Fayetteville, Arkansas,to close an unused street described as follows:
Beginning at the Northwest corner of lot 22 Block 14 of Ferguson Addition to th4 City
Fayetteville, thence West to the St-Lottis San Francisco Railway right -of way, thence iri a
utheasterly direction following said right-of-way to the point where said right-of-way inter -
eta Third Street or U.S.Highway 62, thence East to the west line of Lot 17 in said Block 140

;y expense Alderman Gregory made a motion that the expense of Henry George, Acting Chief,
to of the Fire Department, and one member of the Volunteer Firemen, be paid to attend a Firemen's
lremen convention at Little Rock, October 8th, this motion was seconded by alderman Williams, which

Alderman Gregory made a motion that a warrant be allowed for flowers sent
;lowers by Adams Flower Shop for the funeral of R.J.Wilson, this motion was seconded by alderman
Banks, and was passed unanimously by the Counoil*

The question of the amount of Privilege License for Taxi Cabs and Buses
due for the balance of the year 19449 under Ordinance 882, was ddscussed, and it was agreed
to authorize the City Clerk to accept $25.00 from each firm for the ballance of this year;
NO PARKING -
.Col. `- J Alderman Gregory made a motion that a "NO PARKING ZONE be estabilshed on
& the West side od South College Avenue, from Rock Street to South Street, and "NO PARKING ZONE"
on the EAST SIDE of South School Street, from Rock Street to South Street,this motion was
