Fayetteville City Council met in regular session, Monday August 21st, 1944•
Present: Mayor pro -tem O.T.Sanders, City Clerk J.W*Mo%ehee, Cdty Attorney Price Dickson,
City Engineer E.Tj Brown, Acting Chief of the Fire Depart%ent Henry. George, aldermen;
Banks, Stubblefield, Williams, McRoy and Adkisson. Absent: aldermen.Bronson and Gregory, z:
Minutes of the regular meeting of August 7th, were read and approved*
The following bills were presented, after their approval.by alderman.MoRoy,..chairman Of the

Alderman Williams made a moyion that the bills be allowed as•approved, seconded by alderman
Adkisson, which was regularly passed by the Council*
The July report of V.Jamea Ptak aal�tihdeipalhJudge was.presented by the Clerk, a1deY+-
manMoRoy•made a.motion that the-repert:be redeived'-and filed ,.seconded .by alderman Stubble-
field, which was passed unanimously by.the'Counoilo
The question of enforoing.Ordinance # 744 prohibiting boys under 18'years of age
playing pool or loafing in pool halls, came up for discussion,and alderman Banks made a

otion that action be deferred till next meeting,or`til-1-a-full-membership-of the
*e'ps ant, this motion was seconded -by alderman Stubblefield, and was passed unanimously- ,
by the Council*.
Alderman Stbblefield introduced an Ordinance entitled " AN ORDINANCE RECREATING
THE SEPERATE OFFICE OF CITY HEALTH OFFICER OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE, REPEALING ORDINANCE
N0. "877'4WHICH NAMED THE MAYOR AS THE EX-OFFIGIA CITY HEALTH OFFICER , AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES."
The Clerk read the Ordinance in its entirety, and alderman Stubblefield made a motion
that the rules be suspended and the Ordinance placed on its second reading,seconded by adder -
man Banks, which was passed unanimously by the Council*
The Clerk then read the Ordinance the second tine, and after discussion, alderman
( Adkisson made a motion that the rules be further suspended and the Ordinance placed on its
third and final reading, this motion was seconded by alderman Stubblefield, which was passed
unanimously by the Council* j

The Mayor then put the question " Shall the Ordinance pass",'and on roll call by the Clerk
the following vote was recorded : Ayes; Banks, Stubblefield,Williams, McRoy and Adkissohl
Nays: None. Absent and not voting: aldermen Bronson and Gregory* And the Mayor declared
Passed, asthere wdre 5 Ayes, and no Nayso.
Alderman McRoy moved the adoption of the emergency clause, seconded by
alderman Adkisson, and on roll call by the Clerk the following.vote was recorded: Ayes;
Banka, Stubblefield, Williams, McRoy, Adkisson and Sanders. Nays None. Absent.and not voting:
Aldermen Bronson and Gregoryo And the Mayor declared adopted, as.there were 6 Ayeso And no Nays

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVIE . ARKANSAS:
ION ONE. The separate office of City Health Officer of the City of Fayetteville,
nsas, is hereby created*
