U' A Committee from the Fayetteville Humane Society, consisting of A.H.Clements. mane Mrs Catherine Stout and Mrs D.M.Moore were present to confer with the Council regarding iety the handling of STRAY and UNLICENSED Dogs in the City, after discussion, alderman Stub- blefield introduced the follwing resolution, alderman Bronson moved its aQoption,second by alderman McRoy, and on roll call by the Clerk the follwing vote was recorded; Ayes: Bronson, Gregory Stubblefield, Williams, McRoy and Adkisson, Absent and not voting: Alderman Banks. flays: None. And the Mayor declared adopted, as there were 6 Ayes and No n 1�1 R ES GLUT I0N �U WHEREAS, the Fayetteville Humane Society has offered to act as Pound Master for dogs which have been found running at large during prohibited months and also for d )g Pound not having a Fayetteville City dog licehse, which dogs have been taken up by the Police said City of Fayetteville, and Resolution Whereas, it is ,theldesire of the City Council of the City of Fayetteville the care of said dogs be intrusted to said Humane Society in lieu of the Police Depart and that all pound fees should be paid to said Humane Society instead of the City Coll and Whereas, the City Council aforesaid has fuil confidence in said Humane Soc to see that dogs are kept in custody as now provided by the Ordinances of the City of etteville, and if not claimed orplaced with other owners; that said dogs will be dispo of by said Humane Society as provided by said Ordinances. t NUN.Therefore, BE MT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Fayetteville that from and after the adoption of this resolution, the Humane Society of the City of Fay- etteville shall act as pound master for stray or lost dogs in the City of Fayetteville and all fees accruing by reason of the impounding of said dogs shall be paid over to said Humane Socieby by the owners of said dogs, and if it shall appear that the City license has not been paid, the owner shall be required to pajr said license -fee, which shall be paid to the City Collector before said dogs are released from.said pound; and that in the event said dogs shall not be taken up by their owners or placed with other owners within the time pnoviled by the Ordinances , said Humane Society shall dispose of said dogs as now provided by Ordinance• Passed and approved this 15th day of May, 1944.
