J.T.Osburn 39.75 Lion Sery Station 41.31 W.H.Hester 9.45 Abshier-Bryan 1.28 Alderman Hosford made a motion that the bills be allowed, as approved, seconded by alder- man Bronson, which was regularky passed by the Council. us The 1'sbruaryreports of J.W.McGehee, as City Clerk and as City Collector were presented by the Clerk, Lan Allen presented the report of the Police ,Department and alderman Hosford presented the report of the V'gter Department, alderman McRoy made a motion that the reports be received and filed, seconded by alderman Banks, which was passed unanimously by the Council• The resignation of John Bynum as CAR MARKER was presented by the Mayor, alderman Sanders made a motion that the.resignation be accepted, seconded by alderman Gregory, which was passed unanimously b3; the Council$ r The Mayor reported that Bill Burton, Superintendant at the Sewer Dis- hosal plant was in the Hospital for an operation, and that his son was taking care of the plantp4alderman Sanders made a motion that the son be paid t1,o re;mlpz• sslary for the time that Bill is_off drnty, not.jto exoebd;2•.months; and thatrtAlersalaryrof;^tho^Su.pe:a- intenddnt•tbel-;continiidderfor thensameuper2od of timeuc.this motion was seconded by alderman Banks, and was passed unanimously by the Council. ,ian Mayor Vaughan stated that he would be inducted into the ARMED SERVICE March 10th, and requested a leave of absenoei alderman Hosford made a motion that Mayor Vaughanebe granted a LEAVE OF ABSENCE from MARCH loth, 1944 to the first regular meet- ing of the Councfll after the GENERAL election in April.1945, unless for any reason Mayor Vauhan should be released from.the ARMED. SERVICE. beforo. that. time$ in which event he would immediately resume his duties.as Mayor, this.motion was seconded by alderman Banks, and was passed unanimously by the Council• Alderman Gregory made a motion that alderman Sanders be appointed Mayor--Pro-tem, with authority to sign checks or warranto, during the absence of Mayor Vauhan, this motion was seconded by alderman Banks, which was passed unanimously by the Council.
