Present : Mayor Geo.Vaughan, City Clerk J.W.McGehee, City Attorney Price Dickson, City .Engineer E.T.Brown, Acting Fire Chief Henry George, Police Chief Dan Allen, and aldermen, Bronson,Banks, Gregory, Hosford.. McRoy, Sanders, -Stubblefield and Williams. Mimutes of the regular meeting of January 24th, were read and approved. Nays: Bronson and McRoy. And the Mayor declared Passed, as there were 6 Ayes, and 2 Nays, ,l Alderman Hosford made a motion that the Water Committee and Superintendent be R1ater°IDopt utorized to purchase $15,000 race value of Series "F" War Bonds, amounting to $11,900, to bnyoAI-L this motion was seconded by alderman Gregory, and was passed unanimously by the Council• 15,000 =iu 4" onds I !Alderman Hosford made a motion that the salary of Dr.Harrison Hale; 9hemist for the Water Department, be increased frmm $25 to x$30.00 per month, effective tebruary H.Hale Ist,this motion was secondeD,by alderman Banks, and was passed unanimously by the Council* salary ;$30 I Alderman Sanders made a motian that the Mayor and Sewer Service Collector be Sewer Serv�uthorized to buy some War Bonds from the funds of the Sewer Project No1015 moi, the amount to buy to be left.to their discretion, after checking on the amount of funds in the bank, this Bonds motion was seconded by alderman Stubblefield, and was passed unanimously by the Council.) FiremenI Alderman Sanders made a motion that the salary of the 3 full time firemen be pay to be raised from $110 per month to $120.and that they be allowed $10.00 per month for UNIFORM 130.00 Maintenance, effective February 1st, this motion was seconded by alderman Banks, and was' I assed unanimously by the Council* Alderman Stubblefield introduced an Ordinance, entitled "AN ORDINANCE TO PROVIDE FOR ABANDONING AND VACATING THE ALLEY BETWEEN BLOCKS N0. 16 AND 17, THE ALLEY L BETWEEN BLOCKS NO. 19 AND N0. 20 AND THE ALLEY RUNNING NORTH AND SOUTH, BOUNDED ON THE e/OEAST BT BLOCKS N0. 16 AND NO. 170 AND ON THE WEST BY BLOCK NO 15 ALL IN GUNTER ADDITION �jCCC` TO THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS. The Ordinance was read in its entirety by the Clerk, alderman Bronson made motion that the rules be suspended and the ordinance placed on its second reading, tht (tion was seconded by alderman Banks, and was passed unanimously by the Council. The Clerk then read the Ordinance the second tilne, and after discussion, as decided to wait till the funds were collected from the pro rty owners affected by t rddnance, to take care of the expenses of advertising and publishing the ordinance. There being no further business, alderman McRoy moved to adjourn, seconds( y alderman Bronson, which was duly passed by the Couiioil, and the Mayor declared the ouncil adjourned; „ Attest .
