Absent alderman VcRoy. crease I Alderman Banks made a motion that the pay of the Sanitary Foreman be increase l3alary 21.00 to x"25.00 per week, and th regular men, be increased from 918.00'to 07.0.00 per f r week, and the regular men on the Street Department be dncteasedfrom $18.00 to $ 20.00 Saiitary per week, effective the first full week worked in July, and the sslary of Ben Porter be & increased from $p110.00 to $125.00 per month, effective July lat. 1943, this motion was s eet seconded by alderman Sanders, and was passed unanimously by the Council. Irchase ployees Alderman Banks made a motion that the purchase of 4 acres, more or less, fr Paul Crider, for the Airport Improvement #fund, for the price of $500.00, subject, to app of 4 acres of the title, be approved by the Council, this motion was seconded by alderman 6tubblef approved and was passed unanimously by the Council. And alderman Sanders made a motion that the Ordinance Committee be instructed to draw up an Ordinance reducing rates in the first two brackets 30%, and placing the Schools and Churches of the City on a FREE LIST, effective August ly 1943, this motion was seconded by alderman Stubblefield, and on roll call by the Clerk, 1 following vote was recorded: Ayes:Hosford, Sanders, Stubblefield and Williams. Nays Br Banks and Gregory. Airport WHEREAS, Bentonville, Eureka Spribgs, Gra,dette,Huntsville, Lincoln, Prairie Grove,Rogers, Siloam Springs, Springdale, Wist Fork, viinslow, are so directly connected with Fayetteville by rapid Transit Highways; therefore BE IT RESOLVED that all citizens in these ,"centers be invited to use -the Fayet ville Airport .facilities any time their need arises.. Syrpathy , , for WHEREAS A.C.George served faithfully for a period of thirty-five years as PUMP STATION ENGINEER for the City Mater Plant, and A:C.George I I < WHEREAS in his passing, those who were associated with him feel a distinct loss, and < WHEREAS, -MR GEORGE devoted the best years of hid lifetime to the upbuildin of the public water system and to diligent and efficient service to the people of Fayetteville, and PIHEREAS.the City Council, speaking fgr,itself and the people of Fayettevi is deeply appreciative and responsive to the type of chabacter and service record shown by Mr.George, t " NOW0 THEREFORE BE IT RES)OLVED that the City Council of the City of Fay- etteville"does hereby extend heartfelt sympathy and condolence to the family of A.C.George, and that this memorial be spread of record in the minutes of the City Council, and"a copy sent to the family.
