inutes of the regular meeting of March 1st were read and approved.
The follwing bills were presented, after their approval b:� alderman Hosford,

The February reports of Henry Gerge as Building Inspector and as Acting Ch
of the Fire Department, Roy Nix, as Sewer Service Collector J.W.McGehee as City Collect
eb and as City Clerk, were presented by the Clerk, alderman Gregory made a motion that the
Reports reports be received and filed, seconded by alderman Hosf ord, which was passed unaimousl,
by the -Council.
The question of continuing the Car -Marker was discussed, and alderman
ar-marks Sanders made a motion that the Car -Marker be continued till Map 1st-, at the same salary
ontinue as at present, with the Car -Marker starting at 10 O'clock insteddLof380'clock (as at pr
this motion was seconded by alderman Banks, and on roll call by the Clerk, the followin,
May 1st vote was recorded: Ayes, Bronson, Banks, Hosford, McRoy, Sanddrs,and Stubblefield. Nays
Gregory. And the Mayor declared carried, as there were 6 Ayes, and 1 Nay.
OP,s Police Chief Dan Allen reported that he had secured the services of 5 MilitJly
-Police from Camp Chaffee to assist in handling the extra bunch of SERVICE Men located here,
and the ones who come here over the week -ends from nearby Camps, the only expense being
nom Room rent amounting to $6.00, of which the Sheriff had agreed to pay half, The Chief said
he had made arequest that a permanant arrangement be made to furnish M.P's, but would prob-
np ably 4 to 6 weeks before it could be arranged, alderman Sanders made a motion that the 3.00
).ffee be paid , and that the Mayor and Chief of Police be authorized to make arrangements for
rooms for M.P's till permanant'arrangements could be made, this motion was•seconded by
alderman Gregory, and was passed unanimously by the Council*
Alderman Gregory reported that the Airport Improement Committee had closed the
deal with John Shaffer for his tract of land ad-oining the Airport, and made a motion that
the Clerk be authorized to issue a warrant forp1,500 when the papers have been approved
by the City Attorney, this motion was seconded by alderman Stubblefield, and was passed)
unanimously by the Council.
There being no further business, alderman McRoy moved to adjourn, secondedlby
Bronson, which was duly passed by the Council, and the Mayor declares'. thenCouncil adjourned.

Alderman Sanders made a motion that the chairman of the Fire Committee and
the Acting Fire Chief be given authority. to offer Jess Tune an increase in salary of
$10.00 per month, this motion was seconded by alderman Bronson, and was passed unanimos
Council.
There being no further business, alderman McRoy moved to adjourn, seconded
alderman Sanders, which was duly passed by the Council, and the Mayor eclared the Coun
adjourned.
