Fayetteville CitY Council met in regular session, Monday, March 8th, 1943.
esent : Mayor Geo.vaughan, City Clerk J.H.McGehee, City Attorney Price Dickson, City
gineer E.T.Brown, Police Chief Dan Allen, Buiding Inspector Henry .Georges aldermen;
oneon,, Banks, Gregory, Hosford, McRoy, Sanders and Stubblefield.
Minutes of the regular meeting of March 1st were read and approved.
The follwing bills were presented, after their approval by alderman Hosford,
chairman ofthe auditing commdttee:

Alderman Bronson made a motion that the bills be allowed, as approved, seconded by ald
man Sanders, which was regularly passed by the Council.
The February reports of Henry Gerge as Building Inspector and as Acting Ch
of the Fire Department, Roy Nix, as Sewer Service Collector J.W.McGehee as City Collect
and as City Clerk, were presented by the Clerk, alderman Gregory made a motion that the
reports be received and filed, seconded by alderman Hosford, which was passed unaimousl
by the- Council.
The question of continuing the Car -Marker was discussed, and alderman
'Sanders made a motion that the Car -Marker be continued till May 1st-, at the same salary
as at present, with the Car-14arker starting at 10 O'clock instedd�,of3801clock (as at pr
this motion was seconded by alderman Banks, and on roll call by the Clerk, the followin,
vote was recorded: Ayes, Bronson, Banks, Hosford, McRoy, Sanddrs,and Stubblefield. Nays
Gregory. And the Mayor declared carried, as there were 6 Ayes, and 1 Nay.
Police Chief Dan Allen reported that he had secured the services of 5 Military
-Police from Camp Chaffee to assist in handling the extra bunch of SERVICE Men located here,
and the ones who come here over the week -ends from nearby Camps, the only expense being
Room rent amounting to $6.00, of which the Sheriff had agreed to pay half, The Chief said
he had made arequest that a permanant arrangement be made to funnish M.P's, but would prob-
ably 4 to 6 weeks before it could be arranged, alderman Sanders made a motion that the 43.00
be paid , and that the Mayor and Chief of Police be authorized to make arrangements for
rooms for M.P's till perma na nt' arrangements could be made, this motion was•seconded by
alderman Gregory, and was passed unanimously by the Council.
Alderman Gregory reported that the Airport Improment Committee had closed the
deal with John Shaffer for his tract of land adjoining the Airport, and made a motion that
the Clerk be authorized to issue a warrant for $1.9500 when the papers have been approved
by the City Attorney, this motion was seconded by alderman Stubblefield.. and was passed
unanimously by the Council.
There being no further business, alderman McRoy moved to adjourn, seconded by
Bronson, which was duly passed by the Council, and the Mayor declared thenCouncil adjourned.

$10.00 per month, this motion was seconded by alderman Bronson, and was passed unanimosly by the
Council. I
There being no further business, alderman McRoy moved to adjourn, seconded
