This lease shall begin on the {Afday of , 1943, and shall continue so long
s the lessee operates said airport•un3er a certificate of the Civil Aeronautics Adminisq
ration or asa direct contract flying school for the Airforce of the United States Armec
ervices, or any of them, but -in no event to excedd a period of five (5) years; and in
he event lessee'shall not operate said airport under a certificate -of said Civil Aero-
auties Administration or as a direct contract flying school for the'Airforce of the
nited States Aemed Services, this lease shall immediately terminate, but nothing herein
ontained shall prevent the execution of a new or additional lease, whether lessee con-
inue to operate under -Civil Aeronautics Administration or as a direct flying school for
he Air Forces of the United States Armed Services, or.not; or.whether said.five ,year
eriod shall have expired or not; provide, further that should,the,Civil Aeronautics Ad-
inistration cease to operate its War Training Service .or should t?le policy of the Air
orces of the United States Armed Services of contracting for flying schools cease, or
hould the five (5) year tenure of this lease expire,, then the lessee shall.have the op -
ion to renew said lease for an additional period of five (5) years under such terms and
onditions as may be agreed upon between the lessor and the lessee, taking into consider
tion conditions prevailing at that time; and if the lessor and lessee are unable to Agri
pon the terms and conditions to be applicable to said renewal lease, then each of said
arties agrees that the terms and conditions under which the renewal lease shall be open
ed will be subm-itted to a Board of Arbitration, one of whom shall be selected by the
jessor, one of whom shall be selected by the lessee, and the third member shall be selec
iy the choice of the first two members.
Said three-member Board of Arbitration shall fix the terms and conditions
if said renewal lease, fora five year period, and both lessor and lessee shall be bound

alderman Bronson, which was duly passed by the Council, and the Mayor declared the Coun-
cil adjourned.

Minutes of the regular meeting of January 11th, were read and approved.

lderman Gregory made a motion that the bills be allowed, as approved, seconded by alder
anMcRoy, which was regularly passed by the Council.
,ts The Clerk presented the December reports of Roy Nmx, as Sewer Service
ollector, V.James Ptak, as Municipal Judge,J.W.McGehee as Collector and as City Clerk,
lderman Bronson made a motion that the reports be -received and filed, seconded by alder
anks, which was passed unanimously by the Council.
At this time Mayor Vaughan reported that he had received the resignation
f Earle Shook, as Alderman from the 2nd Ward.

lease to to the Fayetteville Flying Field , or Partnership, composed of"Raymond J.Ellis,
take effect Sallye Margaret Ellis and Edgar T.Ellis. came up for -discussion, -and alderman Gregory
Feb.1,1943 made a motion that the Lease be made effective, February 1st, 1943, this motion was sec
I onded by alderman Banks, and received the unanimous vote of the Council.
There being no further business, alderman Hosford moved to adjourn, sec-
onded by alderman Sanders, which was duly passed by the Council, and the Mayor declared
