Minutes of the regular meeting of July 15th, were read and approved*

lderman McRoy made a motion that the bills be allowed, as approved, seconded by alder -
an Banks, which was regularly passed by the Council':
Requebt for L.L.Harness, representing the VETERANS OF FOREIGN VIARS, appeared before the
Carnival Council and asked the suspension of the LICENSE FEES for a carnival to be held in July,
refused g.fter discussion, alderman Sanders made a motion that the request be granted, seconded
Py alderman Banks, and on roll call by the Clerk, the following vote resulted: Ayes;
Banks, Hosford and Sanders. Nays: Bronson, McRoy, Shook and Stubblefineld. And the Mayor
declared the request refused, as there were 4 Nays, and 3 Ayes*
Dr.Neil Compton ,s.G6untykHeaJthnOfficer, and Zack Boykin, County Sanitatio
ficer, appeared before the Council to discuss objectdons raised in connection with the
mmond Produce Coon East Mountain Street, and also urged the appointment of a Board of

after discussion, Mayor�Vaughan stated that hpesu mit a.., of appointments for'Re,

Small for I An audit of HOSPITAL BOND and REDEMPTION account for the CITY PLATER PIANT
LYater, which had been prepared by R.C.FRAMBERS AND COMPANY of Ft.Smith, was presented by the
Plant Audit Clerk, also a bill for $100.00, for'making the audit,lwas presented, and after discussion,
disallowed alderman Sanders made a motion that the bill be disallowed, this motion was seconded by
alderman Hosford,'and on'roll call by the Clerk received the unanimous vote of the Coune 1
There being no'further business, alderman McRoy moved to adjourn, seconded by
lderman Shbok, which was duly passed by the Council,land the Mayor declared the Council
djourned.

The following bills were presented, after their approval by alderman Hosford, chairman
of the Auditing committee:

Alderman Stubblefield made a motion, that the bulls be°allowed, as approved, seconded by
alderman McRoy, which was regularly bassed by the Council
May report The reports of V.James Ptak, as Municipal Judge for the City, and for the County
of for the month of May, was read by the Clerk, and alderman McRoy made a motion that the
J.Ptak reports be redeived and filed, seconded by alderman Shook,'which was passed.unanimously

Alderman Gregory made a motion that the Mayor appoint a committee of 3
to work with the County Sanitarian and City Attorney in formulating a plan for thr col-
lection of the assessmnt for the C'OL•LECTIOIi OF CANS and other rubbish, with power to act
this motionpeconded by alderman Sanders, and received the unanimous vote of the
Founcil. Thal the f ollwing Committee: McRoy, Gregory and Banks';
Alderman McRoy made a motion that the Airport Committee act in conjunction
with the City Attorney in taking any legal steps necessary to cancel lease with the
Gulf Refining'Co* on the Municipal Airport, and to have authority to make a new Lease
agreement with some Oil Company, this motion was seconded by alderman Stubblefield, and
was passed unanimously by the Council:
Mr.Boykin, the Sanitarian, requested permission to use the w25.00 per -month
that formerly has been paid as a salaryyto the Daiby Inspector) for promotion of the
Sanitation program and a derman Sanders made a motion that Mr $oykin be authorized to
spend upto $25.00 bye with the amount that has accumulated in this funds since
Mr.Boykin took over the offices by reason of his not accepting this amount as salary, as
had been done by his predecessor, this motion was seconded by alderman Banks, and was
passed unanimously by the Council',
Aldeflman McRoy moved to go into executive session, seconded by alderman
Sanders, which was passed unanimously by the Council, and the Mayor declared the Council
in executive session, after discussion of various administrative matters, alderman McRoy
moved to go out of executive session, secoded by alderman Banks, which was passed umn-
imously by the Council. and the Mayor declardd the Council en regular session;
