for use as a Street, to take the place of the one to be closed by the Petition, after
discussion, alderman Gregory made a motion that the matter 1?e referred to the Street
Uommittee and the City Engineer to try to work out some plan with the Fulbright Invest-
ment Co.,that would be agreeable to all. partiesconcerned; This motion was seconded by
alderman McRoy, and was passed unanimously by the Council*
The Budget for 1942, as prepared by the FINANCE COMMITTEE, was presented,
and after discussion; a]:derman Shook moved its adoption, secondey alderman Bronson,
and on roll call by the Clerk, received the unanimous vote of -the Council;

(Alderman Bronson made a motion that the Dills be allowed, as approved, seconded by alderman
McRoy, which was regularly passed by the Council*,
Police Chief, Dan Allen presented the report of the Police Department, and the Clerk read the
March reports of Charlie Sanders, Acting Chief of.the Fire Department, and of J.W.Mcuehee, as
reports Collector, and as Clerk, for the month of Maroh, and alderman McRoy made a motion that the
reports be received and filed, seconded by alderman Bronson,which was passed unanimously
by the Council*
At this time the Clerk read the VETO of Mayor Geo.Vaughan, Jr., on the
VETOof. action of the Council, at the regular meeting of 1Gra c 30, 1942, in adopting the BUDGET
uaget for the year 1942, after discussion, alderman Bronson made a motion that the matter

Vaughan on roll call by the Cler w s ece_r3e Ayds; Bronson, Banks, uregory, Hosford, M'Roy,and
Shook, Nays, Alderman Sanders. Refusing to vote; Stubblefield. And the Mayor declared passed,
as there were 6 Ayes, and 1 Nay,
There being no further business, alderman Bronson moved to adjourn,
seconded by alderman Banks, which was duly passed -by the Council, and the Mayor decla
