Stubblefield, and on roll call by the.Clerk, received the following vote: Ayes; Bronson, Banks, Gregory, Hosford, McRoy, Shook and Stubblefield. Nays: Sanders.' and the Mayor declared passed, as there were 7 Ayes, and 1 Nay:, There being no further business, alderman Hosford moved to adjourn, secondee by alderman Sanders, which was duly passed by the Council, ,and th4via NI declare the Council adjourned. Attest j Approved Letter to A letter from F.F.Stice, Manager Phipps Lumber Co. was read by tlIe Clerk, P}ipps }hick stated that they had furnished the Fire Department 100 Hickory Ladder Rungs, with] L r. Co. but cost to the City Fire Department, and alderman Sanders made a motioh that the City be instructed to write a letter of appreciation to the Phipps Lumber Co., this rhlerk notion was seconded by alderman Banks, which was passecl unanimously by the Council The I3ayor stated that he had a request by Mrs.Van Howell, of the women's Civic iv Club for permission from the Council tooffer the use of 2 rooms to out of town Caub shopners as a REST AND RECREATION place, during the next two weeks, or during the Rooms Kinas Holidays. Alderman Gregory made a motion that the request be granted, seconded by Iq lderman McRoy, which was passed unanimously by the Council.
