HomeMy WebLinkAbout1941-11-24 Minutes529 Airport yx .Ellis, Manager of the Fayetteville Flying Fayetteville City Council met in regular session, Monday, November 17th, 1941. the Council, and Lease Present: Mayor Geo.Vaughan, City Clerk J.W.McGehee, City Attorney Price Dickson, City tcl(iease at the Airport, as the conditions Engineer E.T.Brown, Police Chief Dan Allen, Aldermen; Bronson, Banks, Hosford, McRoy, were very unsatisfactory at the present time, alderman, -.Bronson made Sanders, Shook and Stubblefield. Absent alderman Gregory. onsider- matter be referred to the Aviation Committee, seconded by alderman Hosford, which was d passed unanimously by the Council. Minutes of the regular meeting of November loth, were read and approved. With reference to the Police Radio, Police Chief Dan Allen stated that he had Police been informed by the Federal Communications Commission, that they would not give per - Radio mission to install a 100 Katt Station unless the City and the County would sign a workv ontract ing agreement and send in with the application,and stated that an agreement had been r fused prepared, which he thought would be agreeable to the City and County, and after reading Py the proposed agreement,alddrman Hosford made @a'muotion that the contract be approved, anc C unty that the Mayor and City Clerk be authorized to, 14% contract, this motion was seconded b3 dge alderman McRoy, and vas passed unanimously by the Council. r ( The County Judge refused to sign the contract) Airport yx .Ellis, Manager of the Fayetteville Flying Figld appeared before the Council, and Lease asked that something be done with reference tcl(iease at the Airport, as the conditions o be were very unsatisfactory at the present time, alderman, -.Bronson made a motion that the onsider- matter be referred to the Aviation Committee, seconded by alderman Hosford, which was d passed unanimously by the Council. Municipal League meeting VovembBr 17 -18th, this motion was seconded by alderman McRoy and was passed unanimously by the Council. Oct P.epor s The Clerk read the reports of V.James Ptak as Idluhicipal Judge for the month of I October for the City and for the County, alderman Sanders made a motion that the reports be received and filed, seconded by alderman Banks, which was passed unanimously by the .Judae Council. At'inson L f lar V is itors E Mrs.C.D.Atkinson and Mrs R.A.Leflar were present, as visitors, representing THE LEAGUE OF WOIe1EN VOTERS, and stated that they had no request to make, but ,just wanted to watch the proceedings of the Council in action.
