lderman Bronson made a motion that the bills be allowed, as approved, seconded by alder-
nan Shook, which was regularly passed by the Council.
The question of furnishing gasoline for the ief of Police for his car, when
Gasoline forpn duty for the City, came up for discussions and alderman Sanders made a motion that the
Chief cli tatter be referred to the Police Committee, with power to act, this motion was seconded
car,. y alderman Banks, and was passed,unanimously by the council.
Ed Wages appeared before the council, and stated that there seemed to be a
d,�Uages ismunderstanding about .the report that he vias resigning from the Fire llepartment and
said that if he did decide to resign, that he would,give a written notice in plenty of
time.

Paving Council and submitted the final report of Paving Distriet,No.42,alderman Bronson made a
Dfsti 2 notion that the report be referred to the auditing committee, and if found correct, that
re ort the Commissioners be discharged., this motion was seconded by alderman McRoy, and was

This motion was seconded by alderman McRoy, and on roll cadl by the Clerk, %,as passed
unanimously by the Council.
TAX LEVY FOR THE YEAR 1-9-4-1.
To levy tares for the year 1941, upon the real and personal property within the corpo-
rate limits of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas:
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLS, ARKANSAS:
SECTION I. That the rate of taxes for the City General Fund purposes, for
the year 1941, be, and the same is hereby declared to e Five Iillson each dollar
of .assessed valuation of all real and personal property w17HIn the corporate limits of
the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas, as shown by the Assessment Books for State and
County purposes,and that the sane is hereby levied; and the Mayor and City Clerk are
hereby authorized and directed to certify this levy to the County Clerk of Washington
County, Arkansas to the end that the same be placed on the books and collected with the
State and County Taxes.
SECTION 2. That the rate of taxes for the Fire DepartmentFund purposes,for
the year 1941,be, and the same is hereby declared to be our M 1_s on each dollar of
assessed valuation of all real and personal proerty within the corporate limits of the
City of Fayetteville, Arkansas, as shown by the Assessment Books for State and County
purposes, and that the same is hereby�levied;and the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby
authorized and directed to certify this levy to the County Clerk of Washington County,
Arkansas, to the end that the same be placed on the Tax Books and collected with the
State and County Taxes.
Section 3. That the rate of taxes for the City Funding Bonds and the
Interest Thereof be, and the same is hereby declared to be Two Trills on each dollar
of assessed va cation of real and personal property within the corpor-� limits of the
City of Fayetteville, Arkansas,as shown by the Assessment Books for State and County
purposes, and the same is hereby levied; and the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby author-
ized and directed to certify this levy to the County Clerk of Washington County,
Arkansas,to the end that the same be placed on the Tax Books and collected with the
State and County Taxes.
SECTION 4. That the rate of Taxes for Cit Hospital Fund purposes, for the
,year 19411be, and the same is hereby declared to be One 1 Irlill on each dollar of assessed
valuation of real and personal property within the corporate limits of the City of Fayette
Ville, Arkansas,as shown by the Assessment Books fot: State and Connty purposes, and the
same is hereby levied;ancl=the'-Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized and directed t
certify this levy to the County Clerk of Washington County, Arkansas,to the end that the
same be placed on the Tax Books and collected with the State and County Ta;ges.

Police Chief, Dan Allen presented the report of the Police Department for the.month of
October, and alderman Hosford made a motion that the report be received and filed, sec
by alderman Gregory, which was passed unanimously by the Council.

There being no further business, alderman Shook moved to adjourn, seconded by
lderman McRoy, which was duly passed by the Council, and the Mayor de,51red the Council

Oct. Reports The Clerk read the October reports of Henry George as Building Inspector,
J.W.McGehee as Collector and as City Clerk.and alderman Sanders made a motion that the
reports be received and filed, seconded by alderman Hosdord, wdich was passed unanimously
by the Council.
Wages The RESIGNATION of Edmond Wages from the service of the Fire Department of the City,
esigned to become effective Novelmber 14th, 1941, at 6 O'clock, P.M., was read by the Clerk. I

The question of "30 minute parking" on the North side of the Post Office, came up ,or
discussion, and alderman Hosford made a motion that the time be extended from November [5th,
to January 1st, 1942,this motion was seconded by alderman Banks, and received the unani ous
vote df the Council.

Mr. H.L.Utley appeared before the Council with a request that the North-East andl
west side of the square be roped off for the Armistice Day parade, the next day , November
llth,alderman Sanders made a motion that the request be granted, secobded by alderman
Banks, which was passed.unanimously by the Council.
