Fayetteville City Council met in regular session, monday October 20, 194 1.
Present:
Mayor Geo.Vaughan, City Clerk J.W.McGehee, City Attorney Prize Dickson, City
Engineer E.T.Brown, Police Chief Dan Allen, aldermen ;Bronson, Banks, dregory, Hosford,
i McRoy, Sanders, Shook and Stubblefield.
Minutes of the regular meeting of October 13th, were read and approved.
-The following bills were presented, after their approval by alderman Hosford:

Alderman Shook made a motion.that the bills be ablowed, as approved, seconded by alder-
man Hosford, which was regularly passed bythe Council.
" 0 min- After discussion of the PARR ING PROBLEMS, Aderman Banks made a motion to
parking establish a "30 MINUTE PARKING ZONE" on the NORTH SIDE OF THE POST OFFICE, and try out

The report of Chas Sanders, acting -.Chief of the Fire Department for the month
Fir report of September was read by the Clerk, and alderman Gregory made a motion that the report

T The question of the present cost of STREET LIGHTING came up for discuss
St fight ion, and alderman Bronson made a motion that the Light committee be instructed to check
rates to be into the rates being paid, and also ascertain what the prospects are to obtain a reduc-
investigated tion in the rates being paid at the present time, this mption was seconded by alderman
Banks, and received the unanimous vote of the Council:
Alderman Sanders, chairman of the Street Committee, reported that the High-
Mt.Se uoyah way Department had informed him that after investigating all the pro.Nposed routes
Highw y to be for the Mt.Sequoyah Highway, that the only route they would consider, would be the
OLD ROAD present road leading up the mountain from the end of EAST MAPLE STREET.

denied, seconded by alderman Banks, and on roll call by the Clerk, the following vote
was recorded: Ayes ;Bronson, Banks, Gregory, Hosford, McRoy, ''janders and Shoo$.
Nays: Stubblefield. And the Mayor declared passed, asthere were 7 Ayes, and 1 Nay:
Leasing of The question of Leasing the OLD AIRPORT for next year came up for discussion,
Old irport and alderman Bronson made a motion that the matter be refenrdd to the Finance Committee
referred to with power to act, seconded by alderman McRoy, which was passed unanimously by the
Finance Com. Council.
I The Protest of Mrs.Nell Wilson Jones, to her ASSESSMENT on 185 ft, Wilson's
Nel� Wilson First Addition, in paving District No.54, was read by the Clerk, and alderman Sanders
prptest made a motion that ne.Nt Monday Night, October. 27th, be set for a hearing on the PROTEST
inipaving and that the City Clerk be instructed to notify MrseNell Wilson Jones and the Board of
Dis rict Assessors for Paving District Noe54, consisting of Jas.R.Greer, O.L.Daily and
No. 4 Joe W.Webb to be present on this date , this motion was seconded by alder-
man Shook. and received the unanimous vote of the Council`.'
Taxi lab The question of PARKING ZONES for Taxi Cabs now in use came up again for
Parking Zones discussion, and alderman Bronson made a motion that the City Clerk be instructed to no-
on N.East St tify the TAXI COMPANIES that the PARKING ZONES for TAXI CAB COMPANIES will be abolished
abolished beginning November lst, 1941,on North East Street(At the intersection of Center and
East Streets),this motion was'seconded by alderman Gregory and was passed unanimously
by the Council;
There being no further business, alderman Hosford moved to adjourn,
seconded by alderman Shook, which was duly passed by the Council, and the Mayor declare
the Council adjourned;
