Permit ssembly The Clerk then called the Roll and noted the following present: City Clerk J.W.McGehee, City Attorney Price Dickson, City Engineer E.T.Brown, and alde Bronson, Gregory, Hosford, McRoy, Sanders, Shook and Stubblefield. Absent: alderman Ba The minutes. of the regular meeting of April 7th, were read and approved. The following bills were presented, after their approval by alderman Hosford, memt 0f the auditing committee: Taylor Hannah A6.00, Elmer Boyd $8.40vHal Elderton $9.60, im Gibson $2.40,Hugh Pool $12.00,Clarence Rice $6.00, A.F.Shumate ,$22.50, Otho Shumate 14.40, Herman Armstrong $9.60, Jim Gibson $9.60, Clarence Rice 48.40 and Elmer Boyd $3, Alderman Bronson made a motion that the bills be alldved, as approved, seconded by alde man McRoy, which was regularly passed by the Council* The bill of the County Central Committee, for holding,the City General Electmon pril lst,•1941, was presented, and after discussion, alderman Gregory made.a mopion tha ity Attorney Price Dickson be instructed to secure,an itemized statement of the bill fr he Election Commissioners, and present ite next regular meeting of theCouncil, this moti as seconded by alderman Stubblefield, and was passed unanimously by the Council . The second Annual report of Street Improvement District No 47, was presented, ar�d lderman Bronson made a motion that the report be referred tb the auditing committee, seconded y alderman Shook, which was passed unanimously by the Council A petition was presented, signed by a number of property owners and residents r.to,.pre¢dntthe`issuance of�acBtilding Permit to the ASSEMBLY OF GOD CHURCH at College and Second Street; a committee representing the protesting petitioners and also one representing the Church were present and announced they were ready for, a hearing on the Petition, which was granted, and after both sides were heard on the petition,alderman Shook made a motion that action be"deferred till next Monday Night, and that a committee of three,tbe+appointed together with the Mayor, to make an investigation and report back tothe Council,nwithl recommendations; at the next regular meeting.This motion as seconded C Ca r a der n Gregory and was passed unanimously by the Council. �/�rE ntk�6rs A committee from the Veteran's of Foreign Wars presented re uest that the Council suspend the License fee for a Carnival to be held in the near future, so that the - amount of the license fee might be applied to the Post's Milk Fund, and alderman Gregory made a motion that action on the request be deferred till the Mayor was present, this motion was seconded by alderman Bronson, and received the unanitmous vote of the Council. Alderman Gregory moved to go into Executive session, seconded by alderman Bronson, which was passed unanimously, and the Mayor declared tl3e Council in executive session, after discussion of various administrative matters, alderman McRoy moved to go out of executive session, seconded by alderman Hosford, which was passed unanimously by the_ Council, and the Mayor deckared.the Council in regular session. There being no further business, alderman McRoy moved to adjoura)seconded by alderman Shook, which was duly passed by the Council, and the Mayor declared the Counc adjourned.
