Absent: alderman Banks.. Minutes of the regular meeting of March 31st, were read and approved. A list of supplies needed by the Dairy & Health departments, was submitted by H.L.Woodwaud and C.O.Jacobson, amounting to $60.222 and alderman Gregory made a motion that the list be approved and a warrant drawn for the amount, this motion was seconded by alderman Sanders, and was passed unanimously by the Council. Alderman Gregory made a motion that the Council adjourn Sine Die. This motion was seconded by alderman Shook , which received the unanimous vote of the Council, and the Mayor declared the Council adjourned as Sine Die. Attestv., City erk; Approved,/, w Mayor- . A.D.McAllister, the retiring Mayor in a few well chosen words expressed to the members of the Council and all City Employees, his apyreciation of their cooperation With him during.the time he had served as Mayor. 00 At this time, alderman Gregory read a tribute to the retiring Mayor for his Six Years of pregreSsive administration. City Attorney Price Dickson, on behalf of the members of the City Council and all City employees, then presented gifts to A.D.McAllister, the retiring Mayor and J.C.Peal retiring alderman from 2nd Ward. City Clerk J.W.McGehee, then administered the Oath of suffice to the in -coming Mayor, George Vaughan Jr. Mayor Vaughan then administered the oath of office to Roy Nix, City Treasurer; B.B.Bronson, alderman 1st ward; W.H.Stubblefield, alderman 2nd wand *J,K.Gregory.9 alderman 3rd ward; and George T.Sanders, alderman 4th ward. The Clerk then called the roll, and the following aldermen answered present: Bronson, Gregory, Hosford, McRoy,Sanders, Shook and Stubblefield. Absent$ alderman Banks* Mayor Vaughan expressed his Appreciation for the honor that had been conferr upon him, in being elected Mayor of the City of Fayetteville, and expressed a desire for the same cooperation from the members of the City Council and the City employees, that had been accorded the retiring Mayor. Mayor Vaughan stated , if there was no objection, that he would defer the appointment of Committees till next regular meeting.
