Present: Mayor A.D.McAllister, City Clerk J.W.McGehee, City Attorney Price Dickson, City Engineer E.T.Brown, and aldermen; Bronson, Banks, Gregory, Hos£ord, McRoy, Peal Sanders and Shook. The minutes of tge regular meeting of January 27th, were read and approved. Ark.Western Gas Co 90.27 Thomas & Son 91.10 Alderman Sanders made a motion that the bills be allowed, as approved, seconded by alde man McRoy, which was regularly passed bythe Conc.il. The report of the City Hospital from July 1st, 1940 to January 1st, 1941, was •by.the Clerk, and aldermannBronson made a,mation that the report be received, and filed seconded by alderman Peal, and was passed unanimously by the Council. . RESOLUTE(N r; 9 WHEREAS, there will be a vacancy in the office of the United States Senator from Arkansas, and WHEREAS, our,fellow citizen, Honorable Karl "reenhaw, is one of the most outstanding and capable men in Arkansas to fill this vacancy, he being of unimpeacllebi@ character and integrity, a sound thinker and a brilliant Orator, and WHEREAS, the Destiny of Arkansas will be best served by the apnointment of Karl "reenhaw to fill the unexpired term of Senato Miller: , NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Fayettevill Arkansas, that the Honorable Homer M.Adkins Governor of Arkansas, be memorialized to apT. the Honorable Karl Greenhaw United States Senator to fill the unexpired term of Senator , BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that copies of this Resolution be immediately forwa to Governor Adkins, Karl Greenhaw and to the Press.
