Alderman Gregory made a motion that HENRY GEORGE be appointed Assistant to the
Henry George Superintendant of the City Water Department and to the City Engineer at a salary of
appointed One Hundred Twenty Five Dollars ($125.00), the City Water Department to pay Seventy
assistant Five Dollars ($75.00), and the City to pay Fifty Dollars ($59.00) each , per Month,
to effective , February 1st, 19410 This motion was seconded by alderman Bronson, and
Water Supto was passed unanimously by the Council;
&
City Engineer There being no further business, alderman McRoy moved to adjourn, seconded
by alderman Peale which was duly passed by the Council. and the Mayor declared the
Council adjourned;

Fayetteville City Council met in regular session Monday January 20th, 1941.
Present: Mayor A.D.McAllister, City Clerk J.W.McGehee# City Attorney Price Dickson,
City Engineer E.T.Brown, and aldermen$ Bronson, Banks, "regory, Hosford, McRoy, Peal and
Shook. Absent: alderman Sanders.
Minutes of the adjourned meeting of January 14th, were read and approved.
The following bills were presented, after their approval by alderman Peal, chairman of
the auditing committee: Jackson Cafe $8.50# J.Shelley $10.75, Taylor Hannah $3.00#
American La France- Foamite Corp. $19.39 Ben Porter $$20.00, Elmer Boyd 14.40,
Hal Elderton $14.40, Jim Gibson $13.20# larence Rice $13.20# Hugh Pool 8.40,
A.F.Shumate $22.50 and Otho Shumate $14.40, alderman Gregory made a motion that the
bills be allowed, as approved, seconded by alderman Hosford, which was regularly paesed
bu the Council.

The Fayetteville City Council met in regular session Monday January 27tho 1941

Minutes of the regular meeting of January 20th, were read and approved.

alderman Bronson made a motion that the bills be allowed, as approved, seconded by
alderman Banks, which was regularly passed by the Council'.
Alderman Bronson made a motion that the Account of the Arkansas Municipal
League for $60.00, for dues from September 1st 1940 to September 1st 1941, be allowed,
seconded by alderman Peal, which received the unanimous vote of the Council.
School Sign Alderman Gregory made a motion that a "SCHOOL SIGN" be installed on South
onj College Avenue, in the vicinity of South School ,th s mo on was seconded by alderman
South College Hosford, and was passed unanimously by the Council.
Alderman Hosford made a motion that Jay Shelley be designated as "Keeper
Jay Shelley of the Pound" with the same duties and fees as has been in effect previously,this
