Mayor McAllister announced the appointment the of a BOARD OF EXAMINER for GAS FITTERS, consisting of the following: E.T.Brown the City Engneer as -o Chairman; Joe �fdcCracken and Guy Hendricks, Alderman Hosford made a motion that the C approve the appointment of this Committee, seconded by alderman Gregory, which recei the unanimous vote of the Council; , The Mayor presented the request of Mrs F.N.Gordon, that the City pay the rent for a period of 3 months on Quarters for In-ddor recr ation Alderman Hosford made a motion that the City,Pay $6.0, per month for January -February and March 1941 for Quarters in the Chuech Building on South College, known as "White Chapel", this motion was seconded by alderman McRojr and received the unanimous vote of the Council", Frank Barr A letter was read byothe•Clerksfrom Frank Barr, relative to the Alley in Blo letter Four (4), Original Town, between North Locust and North Church Streets, after discussion, Alleyin the Council failed to take any action* Blk 4 Original Alderman Gregory introduced an Ordinance, entitled " AN ORDINANCE PRO- VIDING FOR INSPECTIONS REQUIRED UNDER THE BUILDING CODES OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE, CHANGING METHODS OF PAMIENTS, REPEALING CONFLICTING ORDINANCES AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. The Ordinance was read in its entirety by the Clerk, and alderman §anders made a motion that the rules be suspended and the Ordinance placed on its second readig, seconded by alderman Hosford, which received the unanimous vote of the Council. The 6lerk then read the Ordinance the second time, and after discussion, alderman Sanders made a motion that the rules be further suspended, and the Ordinance placed on its third and final reading, this motion was seconded by alderman Hosford, and was passed unanimously by the Council. I ,The Clerk then read the Ordinance the third and final time. The Mayor then put the question " Shall the Ordinance Pass" ani on roll call by the Clerk, the following vote was recorded: Ayes; Bronson, BanRs, Gregory, 'Hosford, kcRoy Peal, Sanders and Shook, Nays: None. And the Mayor declared pSssed, as there were 8 A And no'Nays. Alderman Hosford moved the adoption of the emergency clause, seconded alderman Gregory, and on roll call by the Clerk, the following vote was recorded: Ayes Pronson, Banks, Gregory, Hosford, McRoy, Peal, Sanders and Shook. Nays:None. And the Mayor declared adopted, as there were 8 Ayes and no Nays:, 0 R D I N ANN C E N 0. AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR INSPECTIONS REQUIRED UNDER THE BUILDING CODES OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE?, CHANGING METHODS OF PAYMENTS, REPEALING CONFLICTING: ORDINANCES AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas: SECTION i. All permits and inspections now or hereafter required under the building codes -of the City of Fayetteville, shall be issued or performed as the case may be, by the office of the City Engineer, This Ordinance specificallly q:viseS.to Natural Gas, Electrical and Buiblding Permits and inspections; SECTION TT. All fees now or hereafter provided for permits and/or inspections as hereinabove defined shall be paid to the City Clerk and Collector of the City of Fayetteville, from and after the effective date of this Ordinance. SECTION =* All Ordinances or parts of Ordinances in conflict here- with are hereby repealed and this Ordinance being necessary for the preservation of the public health, peace and safety of the residents of the City of Fayette- ville, an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this Ordinance shall be i.i1 full force and effect from and after the 1st day of February, 19419 Passed and approved this 14th day of January, 1941• Approved %= It was the request of the Council that a copy of the above Ordinance (No.859) be mailed to Mr.Clyde Walters, the present City Building Inspector.
