HomeMy WebLinkAbout1941-01-06 Minutesi 4.81 ORDINANCE N0. 8-4-& ' AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR PAYMENT OF AUTOMOBILE DEALERS MOTOR VEHICLE LICENSES FIXING LICENSE FEES THEREFORAND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. BE IT ORDAINED''BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS: SECT(ION ONE: All persons, firms, corporations or associations daling in new or used Motor Vehicles within the City of Fayetteville, who are required to purchase Dealer's licenses for such vehicles from the State of Arkansas, shall also be required to purchase a Motor Vehicle.license or licenses from the City of Fayetteville, SECTION TWO: Each such "ealer shall be required to purclgase One Master License and as many additiomal tags as and purchased by said Dealer from the Comm sT slner7o� Revenues of the State of Arkansas, for State of Arkansas Dealer's License and Tags. SECTION THREE: The Master License or Tax hereinabove mentioned shall be $1000, per annum and all additional Dealer's Tags shall be $2.50 per annum, subject to the s same discounts and prorated payments as are now, or may hereafter be provided for preset ent City Auto Tags or Licenses. SECTION FOUR: Any persons firm, corporation or association failing to pay the license fee, or to purchase tags herein required within the time now or hereafter pre- scribed for purchase of Fayetteville Automobile License Tags shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction thereof,; shall be fined in any sum not exceeding Three times the cost of such license or licenses. ,.a SECTIO FIVE: A110/adinances or parts of Ordinances in conflict herewith, insofar as they apply to Dealer's Tags or licenses are hereby repealed: and this'Ordi � nance being necessary for the peace, health and safety of the residents of the City of Fayetteville, an emergeneir is hereby declared to exist and this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after.its passge, approval and publication. Alderman Bronson made a motion that the letter be received and filed, secdr by alderman Shook, which received the unanimous vdte of thevCouncil. AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR A BOARD OF EXAMINERS FOR GAS FITTERS, PRESCRIBING DUTIES ND FOR OTHER PURPOSES., BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City. of Fayetteville, Arkansas: SECTION I. There is hereby created a Board composed of three citizens of the City of Fayetteville, to be known as the Board of Examiners for Gas Fitters, whose duties shall Abe to determine the qualifications ofaall persons seeking to fit or install gas pipes, fxt and/ or appliances, or to repair the same, and to issue Gas Fitters or gas fitting,f ixture or appliance repairman licenses to such persons as in the judgment of said Board are quali- fied to fit gas pipes, fixtures or appliances or repair the same; provided,however,that should any person be guilty of negligence in fitting or repairing gas pipe fixtures or•appl., ances or perform such 6rffXYXK services in such a manner as to 4ndicate either a lack of quali- fications or negligence, then said Board may revoke the license of said person and refuselto r -i sl sue u%h license until in the judgment of said Board such person makes a satisfactory ns{ ow ng t is no further negligence or lack of qualifications will occur. es, 1: i (ORDINANCE NO 850, Continued) SECTION M Any person desiring to fit or repair gas pipes Ar piping, fixtures and or appliances shall be requiredoto make application to the Board of Examiners for Gas Fitters, and after satisfying said Board as to qualifications and integrity, and securing their certificate as to such qualifications and integrity, shall present said certificate to the City Clerk, who shall issue a L'as Fritters and gas repairman license upon payment of an annual license fee in the sum of $3.001 which shall expire on the 31st day of Lecember in each year. SECTIONZTI. Any person fitting or atteippting to fit gas pipes or• piping, fix- tures or'appliancesb or repairing or attempting to repair the same without the license prescribed in this Ordinance,shall be guilty of a mosdemeanor and upon conviction shall be fined in any sum not exceeding $100.00, and eacg act of fitting or repairing shall constitute a seperate offence. SECTION IV. Any employer who shall permit any of his employees to fit or re- pair gas pipes or appliances without such employee first having secured the license herein provided shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and punishable by a fine in any sum not to exceed y$100.00* and each violation of this Section shall constitute a seperate of fence. SECTION"V. All -ordinances relating to the qualification and licensing of Plumbers shall be equally applicable to Gas Fitters and repairmen, except such as are in direct conflict with this Ordinance. SECTION Vi The Board herein created shall be appointed by the Mayor and such appointment corlTrmed by the Council. and their terms of office shall be at the will and pleasure of the Council* , SECTION V=* All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed and'11T appearing that the enactment of this Ordinance is necessary for the peace, health and safety of the residents of the City of Fayetteville, an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage, approval and publication. BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas: SECTION •i. All permits and inspections now or hereafter required under the building codes.of the City of Fayetteville, shall be issued or performed as the case may be, by the office of the City Engineer, This Ordinance specif icallly APPL-seS•to Natural Gas, Electrical and Buiblding Permits and inspections; SECTION TT. All fees now or hereafter provided for permits and/or inspections as hereinabove defined shall be paid to the City Clerk and Collector of the City of Fayetteville, from and after the effective date of this Ordinance.
