Fayetteville City Council met in regular session, Monday December 16th,1940.
Present: Mayor A.D.MoAllister, City Clerk J.W.McGehed, City Attorney Price Ddckson,
City.Engineer E.T.Brown, and aldermen; Bronson, Banks, Gregory, Hosford, Mc:Roy, Peal,
Sanders -and Shook.
Minutes of the regular meeting of December 9th, were read and approved.
The following hills were presented, after their approval by alderman Peal, chairman of
the auditing committee:

Alderman Bronson made a motion that the bills be allowed, as approved, seconded by
alderman Shook, which was regularly passed by the Council';
Mayor McAllister and City Attorney Price Dickson reported on the Arkansas Municipal
League meeting in Little Hock, December 9th, and alderman Sanders made a motion that
the expense of this Committee, amounting to 26.53, be allowed ,this motion was secondei
by alderman Brohson> and was passed unanimously by the Council';

Mr.Winf ield Botts came before the Council and explained in detail the plan of the
Community Group Hospitalization, and asked for the endorsement of the Council, but afte3
discussion, no action was taken.
Alderman Sanders made a motion that C.W.Beaver be appointe.?Ia CommAssioner in
Paving District No 52, to succeed Mrs Pearl Whitener, who has moved out of the District,
this motion was seconded by11 alderman Rosford , and was passed unanimously by the Counci:
Alderman Peals chaan of the auditing committee reported that he had examined
the report of the Commissi�d""ners of Annex Nol to Sewer Improvement District No 10 and
found it to be correct, and made a motion that the report be received and filed, this
motion was seconded by alderman Gregory, and received the unanimous vote of the Uouncil'
The report of the Commdssioners of Annex No 1 To StouthgCollege Avenue Paving
District No 1 was presented, and alderman nronson made a motion that the report be re-
ferred to,the auditing committee, this- motion was seconded by alderman "anders, and was
passed unanimously by the Council•
There being no further business, alderman Gregory moved to adjourn; seconded by
alderman McRoy, which was duly passed by the Council, and the Mayor declared the Counci
adjourned.

Alderman Gregory introduced an Ordinance, entitled " AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR
PAYMENT OF AUTOMOBILE DEALERS MOTOR VEHICLE LICENSES, FIXING LICENSE FEES THEREFOR AND
FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

The Clerk read the Ordinance in its entirety, and alderman Sanders made a motion
that the rules be suspended and the Ordinance placed on its second reading, this motion was
seconded by alderman Hosford, and received the unanimous vote of the Council.
The Ordinance was read the second time, and after discussion, alderman Gregory made
a motion that the rules be further,suspended, and the Ordinance .placed on its third and
final reading, this motion was seconded by alderman $rahson,.and on roll call by the Clerk
received the unanimous vote of the Council.
The Clerk then read the ordinance the third and final time.
The Mayor then put the question " Shall the Ordinance pass", and on�roll call by the Clerk,
the following vote resulted: Ayes: Bronson, Banks, Gregory, ffosford? McRoy,and Sanders.)
Nays None. Absent and not,voting: Peal and Shook* And the Mayor declared passed, as there
were 6 Ayes and no Nays.
Alderman Gregory moved the adoption of the emergency clause, seconded by ald
McRoy, and on roll call by the Clerk, the -.following vote:,was�,recorded: Ayes: Bronson, Bi
uregory, #osford, McRoy and Sanders. Nays Nonee. Absent and not voting: Peal and Shoo]
And the Mayor declared the emergency clause adopted, as there were 6 Ayes, and no Nays.
