Alderman Banks,chairman of the Fire Committee, made a motion that two (2) full time jo
be'created for the Fire Department at 065.00 per month, said jobs to take the place of
two (2) jobs that have been designated as Part Time obs, this action to be effective
January 1st, 1941,this motion was secended y a erman5nooic, and received the unanimo
vote of the Council•
n Alderman Hosford made a motion that the job of DESK PATROLMAN for the Police
Department be created at a salary of $75.00 per month, and the ob of SANITARY OFFI
be abolished, effective January 1st, 1941,this motion was seconded by aerman an
which received the unanimous vote of the Council.

There being no further business, alderman McRoy moved toladjourn, seconded by
alderman Bronson, which was duly passed by the Council, and the Mayor declared the Counc
adjourned.

Fayetteville City Council met in regular session, Monday, December 9th,.1940.
The absence of the Mayor was noted and alderman Gregory made a motion that alderman Sa
be elected Mayor-protem, seconded by alderman McRoy-; which was passed unanimous by the
Council. •
The Clerk then Galled the roll, and noted the following present;
City Clerk J.W.McOehee, City Engineer E.T.Brmwn, and aldermen; Bronson ,Banks, Gregory,
Hosford, McRoy, Peal, Sanders and Shook:
The following bills were presented, after theirapproval by alderman Peal, chat
of the Auditing Committee* Ben Porter $20.00, Elmer Boyd $14.40, HalElderton $15.00,
Hugh Pool $14.40, Jim Gibson 010.20, Clarence Rice $14.40, A.F.Shumate $22.50, Otho Shun
$14.40, Billie Wilcox $14.40 . Alderman McRoy made a motion that the bills be allowed, a
secomded by alderman Bronson, which was regularly passed by the Council
A request was presented to install an instrument in the Tower of the Court xc
for the purpose of playin Christmas Carols, but it was suggested that this permission he
already been granted,
Alderman Hosford said he was having a great many complain about the hauling
tin cans, but it was suggested that no action be taken until the Mayor reported what prc
he had been able to make.
The problem of parking on both sidesof the street, in front of the Sigma Chi
House , and also congestion of traffic at University and Dickson Streets was discussed,
but no action taken.-.
