HomeMy WebLinkAbout1940-10-14 Minutes47 .1 Alderman Bronson made a motion that the bills be allowed, as apprdved, seconded by alderman Shook, which was regularly passed by the Council. v.James Ptak appeared before the Council as a Representative of the Georgia Ueorgia *:tate State Savings Association, and asked for a settlement for a strip of land, Five(5) feet Saving's wide off of the North end of a part of Lot 1, Block 42 County Court "ddition, which was taken over by the City inwidening West Maple Street for the purpose of Paving Llaple Street, alderman Peal made a motion that the matter be referred.to the Street Committee with power to act, this motion was seconded by alderman Hosford , and was passed unani- mously by the Council. V iss Dina Mr. O.L.Daily, chairman of the Board of Assessors fop Sewer Improvement Distric Reed I No.l. appeared before the Council, and explained the Assessment placed om Miss Lina Ree Assessment property in Reed's Subdivision, to the City of Fayetteville, on which a protest had bee: not reduced filed, after discussion, alderman Bronson made a motion that the Assessment stand as made by the sBoard of Assessors, this motion was seconded by alderman Banks, and receive the unanimous vote of the Council Geo.Wif Mr.Geo.Wolf submitted a proposed re -plat Of Block 2 ,kont Nord Addition Plat and alderman Sanders made a motion that as an expression from the Council, that Mr.Wolf be assured that if he would submit a Plat as suggested by the Council, that the Council would be in favor of approving such a rlat, this motion was seconded by alderman Hosford, and was passed unanimously by the Council. t5raft "B" Board The Mayor rEp,�or��ted that the Draft "B° Board had requested the City to ask for furnish space £or them NKPIG q'ffie 1st of January; nd alderman Sadders made a motion Space that the matter be referred to the Building Committee, with power to act, this motion was seconded by alderman Bronson, and received the unanimous vote of the Council to pay $100.0 The matter of the City helping pay the salary of the Health Unit for.,the on salary month of September, came up for discussion, and alderman Shook, chairman of the Vinance ?of Health Committee,made a motion that the City pay $100.00, provided that the Dairymen pay the Unit same amount,(or $100.00), this motion was seconded by alderman Peal,and was passed unanimously by the Council. The matter of a Building $ermit at_900 North College came up for discussion, and alderman Sanders made a motion that the Building Inspector be authorized to grant Ed Forbes, a Building Permit at 900 forth College, this motion was seconded by alderman Gregory, and was passed unanimously by the Council; Li ht installed Alderman Hosford, chairman of the Light Committee, made a motion that a at Highlrnd & light be installed at Highland and Pike Street�sp this motion as seconded by alderman pike Sts. McRoy, and received the unanirious vote of the ouncil. . There being no further business, alderman McRoy moved to adjourn,seconded by alderman Hosford, which was duly passed by the Council,and the Mayor declared the Council adjourned; Attest Approved _G 's Fayetteville City Comncil met in regular session monday October 14th,1940.
