Alderman Gregory made a motion that the amount of 50¢ per member for each one of the Firemen who attended the Firemen's School recently held at Fayetteville and Rogers be allowed, this motion was seconded by alderman Banks, and was passed unanimosl by the Council Alderman Sanders made a motion that the Street "epartment furnish the labor to lay the Sidewalk in front Ruth Morley's place on South Locust 6treet., also to furnish the labor to lay the sidewalk in frontoof A.C.Ucker's property and 2 other property owners adjoining the Ucker property on South Duncan Street, the property owners to furnish the,material, this motion was seconded by alderman Gregory, and received the unanimous vote of the Council. There being no further business, alderman McRoy moved to adjourn, secomded by alderman Hos,ford, which was duly passed by the Council, and the Mayor declared the Council.adjourned. Present: Mayor A.D.MeAllister, City Clerk J.W.McGehee, City Attorney Price Dickson, City Engineer E.T.Brownp and aldermen Bronson, Banks, Gregory,Hosford, Peal, Sanders and Shook. Absent: alderman McRoy; Minutes of the regular meeting of October 30th were read, and it was suggested that the minutes show why the Concil voted to furnish the labor for laying S$idewalks on South Locust and South Duncanvwhich in the case of Ruth Morley on South Hocustpwas that.at the time the other walks were Idid, withcs:vW:P:A:Project, she could not finance hers' and claimed that the only way she could finance it at this time was for the City to furnish the labor, and in the case of A.C.Ucker Et -al on South Duncan, their walks were included in the W.P.A.Project,but for some reason the W.P.A.didn't finish the job, although the property owners were ready and willing for the walks to be laid under the W.P.A.Pro,ject) after which the minutes were approved The following bills were presented, after theirapproval, by alderman Peal, chairman of the auditing committee: J.c Jackson Cafe ,Campbell &oBell S.W.Bell Telephone Co. The Clerk reported that a vacancy had occurred on the Board of Commissioners of Paving District No.43, by reason of D.G.Lehn having sold hisproperty in this District and stated that Earle Bates had been recommended to succed D.h.Lehn as a Commissioner it this District, the Clerk also reported that A.C.Ucker had purchased property in this District and wished to resign as a member od the Board. of Assessors of this DistAict, and stated that J.W.Cohea had been recommended :to succeed A.C.Ucker as a member of the Board of Assessors, aldefman Gregory made a motion that the Clerk request these resigna- ,oions be submitted in writing and filed with the Clerk and that the appoimtment of Earl Bates as Commissioner and J.W.Cohea as Assessor of Paving District ivo. 43 be made, to take effect when the resignations of D.G.Lehn as Commissioner and A.C.Ucker as Asses: of Pavibg District No.43, had been filed with the Clerk. This motion was so'conded by alderman Banks, and was passed unanimously by the Coumcil. 417 .E.Whit- Mr.W.E.hitford appeared before the Council and made complaint about the drainage of the e water ord on Lindell Avenue, and alderman Gregory made a motion that the matter be referred to the Truck City Engineer and then Commissioners of treet Improvement District No. 46* this motiob was nstalled seconded by alderman anks , and was passed unanimosly by the Council`.' Permit for Ed Brewer appeared before the Council to ask for a Permit for a Carnival to be sponsored rnival by the Veterans of Foreign 04rs, after discussion, it was decided to charge the regular efused price of x$''100.00 for the Permit if issued, and alderman sanders made a motion that if the repairs and adjustments were made, this motion vias seconded by alderman Gregory, and relceived permit were issued, that the sum of $100.00 be donated to the Milk Fund, which was being; The Mayor reported that he had a request from the Dairymen,for the City to help sponsored by the V.F.W., this motion was seconded by alderman Banks, and on roll call by quest the Clerk, the following vote resulted: Ayes; Banks.and Sanders. Nays; Bronson, Gregory+, The Mayor reported that he had taken up with Mr.Johnson, the matter of install. Hosford, Peal and Shook.
