After a general discussion of airport matters, Alderman McRoy moved to adjourn,
seconded by Alderman Bronson, which was duly passed by the Council, and the Mayor
declared the Council adjourned.

Fayetteville City Council met in regular session Monday, August 26, 1940.
Present: Mayor A. D. TvIcAllister, City Clerk, J. We McGehee; City Attorney Price
Dickson, City Engineer, E. T. Brown; and Aldermen: Banka, Gregory, Hosford, McRoy,
Peal, Sanders and Shook. Absent: Alderman Bronson.

Minutes of the regular meeting of August 19 were read and approved.

Alderman Hosford_made a motion that the bills be allowed, as approved. Seconded
by Alderman McRoy, which was regularly passed by the Council.
The Mayor stated that he had a request to attend a meeting at Harrison, Friday,
September 6, relative to the proposed construction of a dam for flood control. Also,
a request for representation from the City Council to attend a meeting to be held
at Kansas City, Mo., Friday August 30, relative to the preparedness program.
Alderman Sanders made a motion that the Mayor and any other members of the
Council, who would go, should attend one or both of these meetings, with expenses
paid. This motion was seconded by Alderman Peal and received the unanimous vote of
the Council.
Edmond Wages, of the Fire Department, was present and exhibited some ladders,
constructed by the members of the Fire Department at a cost of 525.90, which would
have cost ,5172.005 if they had been purchased from the factory. Mr. 47ages made a
detailed report of his trip to the Firemen's School at Stillwater, Okla., and express
his thanks to the Council for paying his expenses to the school.
There being no further business, Alderman McRoy moved to adjourn, seconded by
Alderman Shook, which was duly passed by the Council, and the Mayor declared the
Council adjourned.
