HomeMy WebLinkAbout1940-07-29 Minutes464 Oom.to go to R.for er-pass " nter St: olice ules urvey at it -port une eports The question of the progress that was being made with the Frised R.R.Co.relative to the construction of the under -pass on Center gtreet, came up for disdussion,and alderman Hosford made a motion that a committee consisting of :%the Mayor; City Engineer, City Attorneysand the chairman of the Street Committee, make a trip to L',ttle Rock in the interest of this proposition,'this motion was seconded by alderman 4regory ,and receives unanimous vote od the Council`•' Alderman McRoy made a motion that the rules, and regulations governingi.the?•PGlice Department, as recommended by the Civil Service Commission, be adopted, this motion was seconded by alderman Hosford, and received the unanimous vote of the Council. There being no further business, alderman McRoy moved to adjourn, seconded by a Hosford, which was duly passed by the Council, and the Mayor declared the Council adj . • l c "! Absent: alderman Gregory. , Minutes of the regular meeting of July 22nd were readcand approved. A,D.McAllis$er, as Exofficio Chief of thn Fite Department and as officio Chief of yo Clyde Walters, as Building Inspector, V.James Ptak, as Municipal Jdge for the City and for the County, and J.W.MeGehee as Collector and as City Clerk, wrre presented, and al Bronson made a motion that the reports be received and filed, seconded by alderman Sanders, which was passed, unanimously by the Council.
