Present • Mayor A.D.MeAllister, City Clerk J.W.McGshee, City Atttorney Price Dickson, City Engineer E.T.Brcwm,'and aldermen ; Bronsdri, Banks, Gregory,Hoaford, McRoy,Peal, Sanders and Shook. Minutes of the regulaer meeting of July 1st, were read and approved. ' 10.11 Fay Lbr & Cement Co. 16058 Otho Shumate 20.00 Compressed Ind.Gases Co 5.92 Standard Oil Co 73.419 12.00 xlaerman Bronson made a motion that the bills be aPPowed, as approved, seconded by alder Sanders, which was rbgularly passed by tlge Council. arvey Harvey Phillips and Ted Fairchild appeared before the Council and wanted to know hillips what the Council planned to do about ordering in sidewalks on North Walnut Avenue, and Ted after discussion, alderman Gregory made a motion that Mayor A.D.McAllister contact all c a-irchild the property owners on North Wa.1nut Avenue, who do not have sidewalks laid in front of t sked for property,and ascertain.if the-Pefilling to have sidewalks laid in front of their property idewalks as soon as the W.P.A.labor is available, this motion was seconded by alderman Hosford, a n North Ireceived the unanimous vote of the Councilal year surance ft to s.Comm. .L.Henry; clary sft to ire The Mayor stated that a representative of the Arkansas Miunicipal League had been here and checkedc over the, Insurance Poliedes carried by the City,, and that he had suggested that the City aarrange to have all the Policies re -written on the 3 year plan had recently been made available for Municipalities, and would mean a saving of 16'=Z/3% Vn premiums, Alderman Sanders made a motion that the matter be referred to the Insuranc ommittee, with power to act, seconded by alderman Peal, and received the unanimous vot the Council The Mayor stated that M.L.Henry of the Fire Department had been working fa sometime on the day shift and putting in full time , and was only drawing pay for part employee, and alderman Gregory made a motion that this matter be referred to the Fire committee and Ex-offieio:Fire Chief, with power to act•; this motion was seconded by all Bronson, and received the umanimous vote of the Council`•' There being no further business, Alderman McRoy moved to adjourn, seconded by alderman Hosford, which was duly passed by the Council, and the Mayor declared the Cou adjourned; Attest4ad &e�.l,L� YGIty ulerk Approved (sT014v 7m a u[ Fayetteville City Couhvil met in regular session, Monday July 15th, 1940. And the Mayor declared, passed, as there were 7 Ayes and 1 Nay Miss Ruth Morley pnd J.S.Jameson appeared before the Council in behalf of Kut ime Morley, oma whom a copy of a resolution passed Jtlylst, had been served, ordering her to xtended have a sidevIalk laid in front of her proerty on South Locust Street, afber discussion, for alderman Sanders made a motion that the Resolution passed by the Council on July lst, be Ruth amended to read "that work must be started on construction of sidewalk mentioned in said Morley Resolution, by.October 1st,1940, and if not started by that time, then the provisions of Resolution will apply the same as if the time had not been extended, this motion was se ?lderman Shook, and on roll call by the Clerk, received the following vote: Ayes; Banlcs, 0fiegory, Hosford, McRoy, Sanders and Shook.
