Present: Mayor, A.D MCAllister,City 1 erk,J.W.MeGehee, City Attorney#Price Dickson, City Engineer, E.T.�rown; aldermen: Bronson, Oanter, dregory, Peal, Sanders, Shook and Absent: Alderman Hosford. Minutes of the regular meeting of March 18th, were read and approved. The following bills were 1preaented, adter their approval by alderman Peal, chairman of auditing committee; Jackson Cafe $1.25, The Blairs $1,28, S.W.Gas & Electric Co.$ 5.34 15.73, Alberta Broyles $1:002Americam Lithographing & Printing Co:$l5.08';Kelley ros 1.84, Ozark Gro:Co1. 6,84,The Texas CoDe $22.44pThe Automotive Inc. $4.69, Ben Porter Elmer Boyd $14110, Hugh Pool x$11.00, Clarence Rice $12.00. UShumate $20:00'and Otho S'. 012.00. Aldermen Ucker made a motion that the bills be allowed, as approved, seconded alderman Bronson, which was regularly passed by the Council. J.D.Wilson appeared before the Counail'to.protest his assessment in Street rovement District No.47. But was informed by the -Mayor that the time had expired for m roteste for assessments in that District. ; d. 03 t ter orley. Alderman Brohson made a motion that the reports be received and filed; seconded by al( man Carter, which was duly passed by the Council. The request of the VV.P.A.Sewing Project for Funds to help purchase material; swing way presented by the Mayor, who stated that he had been informed that unless the funds were• roject provided, the Sewing Project would be discontinued, and he akso stated that the amount asked quest for would be approximately $25.00 per month.Alderman Sanders made a motion that the matter pay be referred to'the Finance Committee,,secondeddby alderman Bronson,andirecdived-�the1foII6N,in mater-cAyes•:-BPonsori;Carter,llregory,Sanders, Shook & Ucker.Nays:Peal. And the Mayor declared Carrie al. { Alderman Sanders made a motion that the Judges and clerks be allowed the sum of $2,50 eachifor holding the General Election on April 2nd, 1940, also to pay the I um of.three Dollars rent for a voAtng place in"Ward 4.,this motion was secomded by alderman Peal, and was passed unanimously by the Council. Alderman Bronson made a motion that a warrant, be drawn to q,*E.Williams, 1I, secretary od the Board of Election Commissioners, for the sum of $109.25 to pay the expense of holding the General Election on April 2nd, 1940. This motion was seconded by alderman Carter, and received the unanimous vote of the Council. 03 t ter orley.
