Present: Mayor, A.D McAllister,City 1 erk,J.W*McGehee , City Attorney,Price Dickson, City Engineer, E.T.�own; aldermen: f9onson, utter, &egory, Peal, Sanders, Shook and Absent: Alderman Hosford. Minutes of the regular meeting of March 18th, were read and approved. The following bills were pre�ented, adter their approval by alderman Peal, chairman of auditing committee; Jackson Cafe $1.25, The Blairs $1.28, S.W.Gas & Electric Co.$2§5.34 15.7,3, Alberta Broyles $1:00,Americam Lithographing & Printing Co:$15.08';Kelley ros 1.84, Ozark Gro:Co. $6.84,The Texas Co. $22.44,TheAutomotive Inc. $4.69y Ben Porter Elmer Boyd $14110, Hugh Pool 11.00, Clarence Rice $12.00. 49Shumate $20:00'and Otho S' 012.00, Aldermen Ucker made a motion that the bills be allowed, as approved, seconded alderman Bronson, which was regularly passed by the Council. J.D.Wilson appeared before the Counvil`to.protest his assessment in Street rovement District No.47. But was informed by the -Mayor that the time had expired for m roteste for assessments in that District* ie id Co; ) .00iJ nate ing 1 I The request of the A.P.A.Sewing Project for Funds to help purchase material; swing way presented by the Mayor, who stated that he had been informed that unless the funds were- roject provided, the Sewing Project would be discontinued, and he also stated that the amount asked quest for would be approximately $25.00 per month.Alderman Sanders made a motion that the matter pay be referred to•the Finance Committee,, secondeddby alderman Bronson,andi.received�.the�'fo•11oN,in mater -cAyes':-BP onsohiQarter,dregoryaSanders , Shook & Ucker.Nays:Peals- And the Mayor declared carrie al. Alderman Sanders made a motion that the Judges and clerks be allowed the sum of $2.50 eachifor holding the General Election on April 2nd, 1940, also to pay the sum of.three Dollars rent for a voAtng place in'Ward 4.,this motion was secomded by alderman Peal, and was passed unanimously by the Council. Alderman Bronson made a motion that a warrant,be drawn to 4q4E.Williams, ecretary od the Board of Election Commissioners, for the sum of $109.25 to pay the expense of holding the General Election on April 2nd, 1940. This motion was seconded by alderman) Darter, and received the unanimous vote of the Council. Alderman Bronson made a motion that the Mayor be instructed to write Mi etter Ruth Morley, a copy of the letter to be sent to Mr.W:S.Poolard, that if work on a sidewa o along the East side of her property on South Locust Street has not been started by April th 1940, that the City Council will take the necessary legal s.tepsvtothdve this walk put in Morley.
