AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING A MUNICIPAL COURT IN THE CITY OF FAI,YETTEVILLE;
ARKANSAS, UNDER THE PROVISIONS OF ACT 60 OF THE ACTS OF 1927 AS AMENDED AND FOR OTHER
PURPOSES. '
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS:
SECTiON 1. Under the provisions of Act 60 of the Acts of the General
Assembly of 1927 and Acts amendatory thereto, there is hereby created and established
ih the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas, a corporation court to be styled "The Municipal
Court of Fayetteville, Arkansas", which court shall be conducted in all respects in
compliahce with all of the provisions of said Act and the amendments thereto.
SECTION 2. The salary of the Judge of the Municipal Court shall be Two
Thousand Four Hundred Dollars ($2,400.00) per annum, payable in equal monthly instal
SECTION 3. The Judge of the Municipal Court shall be the Ex -Officio Clerk
of the Municipal Court, and the salary herein provided for the Municipal Judge shall
include his services as Clerk of said Court.
SECTION 4. At the next regular city election after the passage and appro
of this ordinance, and at each regular city election every four years henceforth, the
shall be elected a Municipal Judge whose term of office shall be four years and until
his successor is elected and qualified as such.
SECTION 5. WHEREAS, the administration of justice in both civil and
criminal cases under existing tribunals is inefficient, and,wwhereas, the same will be
expedited by the establishment of a Municipal Court, an emergency is hereby declared
and this ordinance being necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health
and safety,,the same shall be in full force and effect on and after passage, approval
and publication. I

Alderman Sanders made a motion that a committee, consisting of the Mayor
Attorney and at least two aldermen go to Little Rock, to attend a meeting of the Arkans
Municipalwon Monday, February 5th, this -motion was seconded by alderman Shook, and was
unanimously by the Council.
Alderman Bronson moved to go into executive session,seconded by alderman
Gregory, *hich was duly passed by the Council, and the Mayor declared the Council in ex
session, after discussion of various administrative matters, alderman Sanders moved to
out of executive session, seconded by alderman Hosford, whichwas passed unanimously by
Counoil, and the Mayor declared the Council in regular session';

Alderman Ucker made a motion to approve the bill of The DEMOCRAT PRINTING AND
LITHOGRAPHIKG b0. of 618.42 for printing Briefs in the case of McAllister Vs.
McAllister, this motion was seconded by alderman Sanders, and was passed unanimously
by the Council.
There being no further business, alderman Bronson moved to adjourn, s
alderman Ucker, which was dul$r passed by the Council, and the Mayor declared the
adjourned.

Present: Mayor, A.D.McAllistter, City Clerk. J.W,McGehee, City Engineer, E.T.Brown,
Aldermen; Bronson, Carter, Gregory, Hosford, Peal, Sanders, and Ucker. Absent; alderman
Minutes:of the regular meeting of January 29th, were read and approved.
The following bills were presented after their approval by alderman Peal, chairman of
the auditing committee: Ben Porter 620.00,Elmer Boyd $8.40, Geo. Bond $6900, Guy Roberts
$6900, Bill Morris $1900, A.F.Shumate $20900 and Otho Shumate 612.009 alderman Carter
made a motion that the bills be allowed, as approved, seconded by alderman Bronson, whiq
was regularly passed by the Council
The question of approving the W.P.A.Project for the Airport came up for discuss-
ion, but it was decided to postpone action for another week;
The Mayor made a report of the meeting of the Arkansas Municipal League in
Little Rock -that day, which was attended by City Attorney Trice Dickson and the Mayor.
There being no further business, alderman Hosford moved to adjourn, seconded
by alderman Bronson, which was duly passed by the Council, and the Mayob declared the

D.A.Burson, representing the Property owners of Gree -n Acres appeared before the
Green Acres Council and asked for information as to how that section could secure outlets on their
request a Vater Main that would serve as Fire Hydrants after discussion, alderman Sanders made
Water Main motion that the matter be referred to the water Committee and Water Superintendent
with power to act, this motion was seconded by alderman Peal, and was passed unanimously
y the Council.
Boy Scouts The Aldermen elect of the Boy Scout group together with their Troop leader
present Mr Frank Lewis were present to watch the proceed gs of the City Council.
The W.P.A.Project at the Airport came or discussion again but no action was
taken.
Alderman Gregory introduced an Ordinance, entitled MAN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING
AND ABOPTING CERTAIN REAL ESTATE AS AN ANNEX TO AND PART OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE,
ARKANSAS,AND FCR OTHER PURPOSES.

The Ordinance was read in its entirety by the Clerk, alderman Sanders made a
motion thatthe rules be suspended and the Ordinance placed on its see end -reading, seconds
ed by alderman Peal, and on roll call by the Clerk received the unanimous vote of the
Council
The Clerk read the Ordinance the second time, and after discussion, alderman
Brohson made a motion that the rules be further suspended, and the Ordinance placed on
its third and final reading, this motion was seconded by alderman Sand rs, and on roll
call by the Clerk received the following vote' Ayes; Bronson, Caster, uregory, Hosford,
Peal, Sanders and Shook. Nays Uckere and the Mayor declared carried, as there were
