Present: P,Iayor,A.D.McAllister, City Clerk, J.W.McGehee, City Attorney, Price Dickson, City Engineer, E.T.Brown, aldermen;.Bronson, Carter, Gregory, Peal, Sanders, Shook and cker. Absent: Alderman Hosford. Minutes of the regulr meeting of December 4th, were read and approved. The proposition of laying a 6 inch sevicer11fLne1:on Stone & Duncan Streets to Td lay 6 inch acommodate about 'Ten houses that were wanting to connect, was discussed , and alderman Vlato main Sanders made a motion that the matter be referred to the Sewer Comylittee and the on Duncan City Engiheer, with power to act.This motion was seconded by alderman "Uckb3; and receive & the unanimous vote of the Council (who were present). Stone: treet Alc'_erman Bronson made a motion that L;ayor,A,D.MeAllister and City Clerk, J.77,I,:cGehee be authorized to sisn a LEASE -PURCHASE COI1TP,ACT of the propery known as the old Jefferson School site, to be conveyed by Fayettevfffe ScTiool District Yo.l. This motion wcs seconded by alderman Shook, and received the unanimous vote of the Council (-who were present). LEASE -PURCHASE CO -.'TRACT This contract made and entered into on this the I!rday of December,1939, by and between Fayetteville School District No.l , Washington Z%ounty, Arkansas, and the City of Fayetteville, Arlan nsas, V!ITT4ESSETH: Ivor and in consideration of the payment of '200.00 per annum,said Fayetteville Lease -Pu c'nase School District hereby leases to thelCity of Fa yetteville, the property known as the Contract old Jefferson School site, and more particularly described as follows, to -wit: for^I Lots Qne(1), T-ao(2), Tl.;a(3), Four (4),Six(6), and Seven(7), in 3lock Seuen- teen(17) of Jennings Addition to the City of Fayetteville, as ler Plat of said Addition Old JefT rson on file in the office of the Circuit Clerk of Vlashin�ton County, Arkansas. Scho 1 This lease shall continue for a period of three years and rentals shall be �r2 00.00 per annum; provided ho:vever, that the City of Fayetteville may at any time -within maid three ,year period purchase said property for the sum of 511,500.00, and all rentals raid under this contract shall be cred(Ited on the purchase price Rental paynents shall become due and payable on the,d day of January beginning in 1940 and continuing during the term of this lease, ai=l in the event of purchase as herein -above provided, the balance. -of the purchase price after deducting rentals shall be due when purchase is made and=deed delivered. City Buil Ing ?uarters at any time when requested to do so by the City Council, this motion was seconddd .: y alderman Ucker, and received the unanimous vote of the Council (Vlho were present). No Space .or tilderman Gregory reported that the Committee of the County Library had reque t - County 3d quarters for a Store -room in the City Administration Building, but after discussion, Library it •:las decided to inform the Committee that there was no space available, There being no further business, alderman Bronson moved to adjourn, secondee by ldermanSandersowliich was duly passed by the Council, and the Mayor deelkared the Council djourned.
