Alderman Bronson made a motion that the City Attorney prepare and perfect an appeal

on roll'call by the Clerk, received the following vote: Hyes; Bronson Gregory, Hosford,

Alderman Sanders Made a motion that the City I'later Department and the City

Lots from annie Walker ,said block of land lying along the South side of Highway No.62, on the
May 1Vi1 iams West'side of and adjacent to the'�switch of the Frisco Rail Riad Co., being located in
and Block 23 of Ferguson's Addition to the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas, purchase price
Fannie Walker to be not more than Six Hundred Dollars (5P600.00). Alderman Ucker seconded this motion,
and on roll call by the Clerk, received the following vote: Ayes: Bronson,Hosford,Peals
Sanders, Shook and Ucker. Nays:'Carter and Gregory. And the Mayor declared , carried, as
there were 6 Ayes. And 2 Nays'.
No further business appearing, alderman Shook moved to adjourn, seconded by
alderman Udker, which was duly passed by the Council, and the Mayor declared the Council
adjourned.

Present: Iayor, A.D.McAllister, City Clerk, J.w.McGehee, City Attorney, Price Dickson,
City Engineer, E.T.Brown, aldermen: Bronson, Carter, dregory, osford, Peal, Sanders,,
Shook and Ucker. .
Minutes of the regular Meeting of October 23rd ,were read by the Clerk, alderman Gregory
made a motion that the minutes be corrected to read that the City Plater Department
and the City of Fayetteville jointly purchase a certain block of land from Mrs. Roy W;
Williams (May ReW illiams) in stead of reading to be purchased from " May Williams and
Fannie Walker", this motion was seconded by alderman Peal, and was passed unanimously,
by the Council, after which the minutes were approved'.'
The following bills were presented, after their approval by alderman Peal, chair•

seconded by alderman Bronson. which was regularly passed by the Council.,
Al Gregg and Mr.Al Gregg and Harry Jackson, representing,several property owners out on
Harry Jackson Highway No.45 appeared before the Council and asked permission tojoin on to the City
ask permission Water PSain, after discussion, alderman Ucker made a motion that their Dequest be grantee

-1 A committee from the Arkansas National Guard appeared before the Council and
National Guard requested that some arrangement be made for Storage space for at least six trucks, for
ask tliat storage a period of six months, or until the completion of an annex to the Armory Building,
be provided for alderman Shook made a motion that a Committee be appointed, with power to act, to work
6 trucks; with a committe from the Arkansas National Guard in makingsome satisfactory arrangement
this motion was seconded by alderman Sanders ,and was passed unanimously by the Council
Engineer E.T.Brown reported that there was some disceepancy in the location
Side walk line of South Locust Street, as to its present location and where it should be according to
on South Locust the City Plat, and as sidewalks were ready for construction on this Street, he asked th
Street some action be taken to establish the line for the sidewalks from South Street to 4th
Street on the West side of South Locust Street, alderman Sanders made a motion that s
line for the sidewalk be established as shown by the Red, Line's�6n,th'e plat.�uiiinitted
provided an Easement be secured from all the propert7 r1TeY�oiT the test side of South
Locust Street from South Street to 4th Street.Alderman Ucker seconded this motion, whic
was passed unanimously by the Council.
Mr Sam Stone representing a firm in Ft,Smith and Mr Saxon representing a
firm in Little Rock were present, and presented prices and terms on Rock Crushers, both
on a rental and purchase basis. Noaction was taken.
Alderman Bronson introduced a Resolution, appointing a Board of Assessor e
for Street Impnovement District No.51 and moved iti-7 adoption, seconded by alderman Pea:
and on roll call by the.Clerk receives the following vote; Ayes: Bronson, Carter,
Gregory, Hosford, Peal, Sanders, Shook and Ucker. Nays; None. And the Mayor declared
the Resolution adopted, as tgere were 8 Ayes, and no Nays:

City of Fayetteville, Arkansas, has filed its report, together with an estimate of the
costof the improvement contemplated in said local improvement district, and it appearii
therefrom that.the estimated cost of said improvement, exclusive of interest on borrows
money, is the sum of Three Thousand, Two Hundred b'ift -three Dollars ($3,253.00),being
less than fort per p rr cent _Oo o e assesse va uo o e reg estate property in the

NOWITHEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Fayettevill

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COU15C IL OF THE CITY OF 'FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS:
SECTION ONE, that the rate of Taxes for CITY GENERAL, FUND purposes, for the
ear 1939, be,and the same is hereby declared to be FIVE 5 IdILLS on each dollar of
ssessed valuation of all real and personal property within the corporate limits of the
ity of, Fayetteville, Arkansas,as shown by the Assessment Books for State and County
urposes, and that the same is hereby levied: and the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby
