Present: Mayor, A.DJ;IcAllister, City Clerk, J.W.McGehee, City Attorney,Pr ice gickson, City Engineer, E.T.Brown, Aldermen; Bronson, Carter, Gregory, Hosford$ real, anders, Shook and Ucker. Minutes of the regular meeting of Sept.l8th, were read and approved. The following bills were presented, after their approval by alderman Peal, chairman of the auditing committee: Jackson cafe $$5.30, S.W.Gas & Electric Co. $18.46, J.W.Shelley $7.60, S.VI.Gas & Electric Co. Alderman Bronson made a motion that the bills be alloyed,"as approved, secomded by alderman Ucker, which was regularly passed by the Council. The following reports for the month of August, were read by the Clerk: August reportsV.James Ptak as Police Judge, A.D.McAllister, as Ex -Officio Chief of Police and as Ex -Officio Chief of the Fire Department, Clyde Walters as Building Inspector, Roy Nix as Sewer Service Collector, Jw McGehee as City Clerk add as City Collectdr, alderman Peal made a motion that the reports he received and, filed, seconded by alderman Bronson, which was duly passed by the Council. Alderman Gregory made a motion that the Street ommtt together with the City Attorney and City Engineer be instucted to get all the informati the pricy to available, relative to Paving mprovementH Districts, that might be interested in pavin; v ith ',!.P.A.Labor, also to investigate the proposition of buying or renting a rock crush, purchase o rent this motion was seconded by alderman Hosford, and on roll call by the Clerk, received the unanimous vote of the Council. Rock Crusher & Roller Alderman Ucker made a motion that Stop Signs be placed on North dregg Avenue Stop Signs on At Lafayette Street, seconded by alderman Hosford, and on roll call by the Clerk, received the following vote: Ayes: Hosford,Peal, Shook and Ucker. Nays: Bronson,garter Uregg at L'fayette Gregory and Sanders. There being 4 Ayes and 4 Hays, the Pdayor then cast his vote aginst the moition and declared the motion lost. rejected The Clerk read a card from the Futrall Family, acknowledging their gratitud Futall Family for the kind. expression of sympathy, by the Council in the death of J.C.Futrall. There being no further business, alderman Hosford moved to adjourn, secondee Aderman Bronson, which was duly passed by the Council, and the Mayor declared the ouncil adjourned. Alderman Sanders, chairman of the Street Committee, reported the progress they Offer to buy had made, in securing Right-of-way on Maple Street, and after discussion, alderman Gregory made a motion that the Council offer firs. Beulah Cruse the sum of Fifty Dollars corner of lot ($50.00§ for a certain strip of land off the corner of her lot, and agree to protect the part taken by the City with a ':all in keeping with the wall on the West side of her mrs.Cr se Property, beginning 6 feet South of the corner and extending to a point )5 feet East of the corner of her property line, this motion was seconded by alderman,.znd on roll call by the Clerk received the following vote: Ayes;•Carter, Gregory, Hosford, Peal, Shook and Ucker. Nays; Bronson and Sanders. And the Mayor declared earried, as there •dere 6 Ayes, and 2 Nays. The Mayor reported there was a possibility of North College Avenue Paving N.A.McC'rtney Improvement District o.l getting a refund from the State Highway Department, and repor ed that there was a vacancy in the Board of Commissioners, caused by M.A.Stice having appointe disposed of his Property in the District, and alderman Carter made a motion that -Commissi ner in N.A.McCartney be appointed as a Commissioner in this District, seconded by alderman College A e Hosford, and on roll call by the Clerk, received the unanimous vote od the Comncil. '.I 420 Tb pay (Alderman Peal made a motion that the Council continue paying the Utilty bills for the Ut0.lity Bile ollowing Government Projects: Sewing, N.Y.A. and House Keepers Aid, this motion was ewing, N.Y. Seconded by alderman Bronson, and was passed unanimously by the Council. & H*K.Aid. Nays; None.And the Mayor declared the Resolution adopted, as there were 8 Ayes and,no Nays.
